To me he comes across as that loveable big dope that we all knew at school, who was just stronger than everyone else and ran around injuring people without even meaning to. And impregnating them. I honestly never knew that. No wonder he runs with a limp. What a lad! š

Cracking bit of hold up play for the goal, just a shame it went down as an own goal! Looking forward to seeing more of him this season! Could be our new Mama!

I'm still chuckling away at the goal. Never seen a player hold off a centre half so easily but also so early. He rag dolled Kyle Bartley like he was 2 years old. Without doubt a cult hero in the making. With one arm as well. The bloke looks like he juggles atlas stones. The thing I noted was the assist pass came at a real slow pace, still Wes held off the defender, its like marking a phone box.

I recall Villa fans saying something along the lines of āthank fuck weāve gotten rid of himā
What winds me up with him is the bloke is huge! He doesnāt bully defenders, they bully him. He also seems like another player who is more interested in complaining to the ref every time he feels a little contact rather than just getting on with the game.
Part of me feels sorry for him though because he is isolated up front on his own & gets no support.
They should do an experiment & send Haaland down here on loan, thatāll stop him scoring for sure.

Well we took a punt on him as our one and only target man, and it's clear to see it's not going to work.
He won't score a goal whilst I've got a hole in my arse........

We aren't using him right at all. He's too isolated. Sure, he's not going to hit 20 a season but we could be getting a hell of a lot more out of him than we are.

It's patently obvious he does not have the mobility to function as a lone striker, so why play him as one?! I get that Wesley is one of our only fit senior striker, but at least make some effort to play to his strengths! He should have tried Gayle up front with him. Wes is what he is these days, but our clueless manager continues to sell him down the river.

Ask him if he can play the Mama role... With Gayle playing (š) the Fuller stuff.
With Pearson and Thommo in the cage.
Had and Vidigal wide.
Hoof the fucker and see what happens.
Jobs a good un.

He can only do specific things now, which is to receive balls to his feet, hold off defenders and lay the ball off to oncoming support. If you donāt get either, you may as well get the team coach on the pitch cos at least that can move.

I thought he was one who did emerge with any credit v Hull, not seen tonight like most of us so can't comment. Needs a foil, a second striker alongside surely.

He did put in a shift with some good runs in 1st half when we were totally reluctant to play the ball forward into spaces around their box and down the side where he was heading- instead we work it back to keeper or Wilmot to pump it fwd 2 mins too late. When the game wqs slowed down either Bonham or a CB pumped it forward to him totally on his own - clueless tactics . Can see why he was then knackered and forlorn at 70 mins. Lowe did well in his 10 mins and should have been on for 30 mins at least. I'd only give Wesley and Hooch any credit tonight.

I thought he did ok compared to the rest against Hull (Vidigal aside). Not seen the Bournemouth game so can't say on that but anyone with a pulse and an eye that works can see that he's not lone striker material. He needs someone to play of him and get close to him. He's isolated at best playing how we do. If we can all see it then surely the manager can can't he?

Lowe offered much more movement and someone to hit balls into space for. Whilst heās not the solution to our current problems, Iād much rather see him getting minutes than Wes right now.

I donāt profess to be a footballing coach but anyone who loves football can see, the way he is being used is borderline moronic. Heās being used the way a player of his ilk would be played at most other clubs in the country. Thereās just so little to his game that itās not working and not going to work. He canāt run, canāt jump, isnāt any use as a battering ram as he doesnāt do anything with any momentum. The only thing heās remotely competent at is a static test of strength pinning a defender. Heās just a big strong lump with appalling movement and agility. Maybe there was more to him pre injury but thatās not going to do us any good.
