Absolutely loving this new bluesy reworking of the Floyd classic by Roger Waters. Done in the style of Tom Waits it might not endear itself to purists. He's reworked the whole album apparently so I'm looking forward to seeing what that's like.

That does nothing for me. Loses all the best bits of the original eg the tune, the groove, the solos, the rolling bass line etc.

It's completely different yes and stripped back but has its own groove. Its not intended to replace the original Waters has said as much. I like it but that's music for you. Page and Plant did something similar in the mid 90s with some Zep songs which I thought were excellent and I'm a massive Zep fan.

I like it but the spoken word passages are a bit much..I'm told Us and Them off this is a belter. He also rejigged Comfortably Numb on the Lockdown Sessions and was very different and worked so well live as did Two Suns In The Sunset. So fair play to him , project is deeply personal and I'm looking forward to it. He's never boring is Roger

Meh. It's like me trying to write with the other hand. It's different, but I'm comfortably numb with the old way.

Not really very inventive is it? You could pick pretty much any song you like and do that to it. Respect to anyone who does like it but it's not for me.

He's never boring is Roger I was in a restaurant yesterday where the background music was easy listening instrumental stylee where it takes you a while to work out what the popular tune is. Best part of three minutes to realise it was Comfortably Numb, what sacrilege

I have mixed feelings about it. The new version is more about the lyrics, than the music, it's more of a poem to music, and part of me likes it. Where it falls apart is that Roger has been travelling on an upwardly entitled trajectory for so long, that he cannot see that he's become the subject of what he despises.
