On the back of innocentbystanders recent post on the gig thread I rarely pay more than £30 for a gig although I did once pay £75 to see Roger Water's playing The Wall in it's entirety. I suppose before that the last major bands I saw would have been REM and U2 but pre these extortionate ticket prices. Can't remember what I paid to see the Potters in an FA Cup Final

£80 for Black Country Communion at Wolves Civic, didn't even own any of their music.
I think Iron Maiden was £80 the other week too.
I always think it's worth it for bands, not so much for sports.

I paid around £70-80 for Foo Fighters. Most gigs I pay around £20-£50.
£120 for FA Cup Final.
NFL usually £65-£100.

125 quid for Rock Werchter, and the same for Tomorrowland. 80 quid for a single concert (Muse) and just recently 80 quid (x3) for an e-Sports event in Germany Of course the e-Sports one is more for the kids.

My teenage daughter is telling me its £220 for her to see Taylor swift and expecting me to cough up. Its extortion. Ticketmaster are my least favourite company these days, narrowly edging out Sky. I've pointed out I saw all the well known 80's bands back in the day for around £4.50 a ticket but it falls on deaf ears.. My Chameleons tickets last week were £18 which seems like a bargain.

£100 for my gf's old favourite band, August Burns Red.
I turned up at the door and the thing StubHub sold me wasn't a ticket, they refused to refund or replace it and the gf was already inside so I got fisted on a last minute resale.
Luckily my bands aren't popular but my neighbours who complained about money problems each spent ~£1200 on a Taylor Swift ticket.

£112.50 for Springsteen at Hyde Park the other week.
£105 for The Open golf this coming Saturday.
I’ve literally just received an email from Ticketmaster this afternoon saying that I’ve been selected from the waiting list for Taylor Swift tickets. The ONLY ones available are £661.50 each. I have just consulted with my daughter who is an expert on all matters Taylor Swift and she confirms that they are not even the best seats: you are basically paying £500 for some crappy merchandise (her words not mine).
I won’t be going but some of my daughter’s friends are so desperate they are agonising over whether to cough up. It’s criminal.

I was mulling over the scandalous price of £225 for a VIP ticket but then realised even these ones had sold up. There's no way I can justify £600 per ticket, it's ridiculous.

My other daughter managed to get 2 tickets through a friend in the presale last week so they are sorted and we don’t have to go through the agonies that many others are suffering.

The other suggestion I saw is basically a lottery system for tickets. But that could also be screwed by bots.

I got Swift tix at £112 each in the presale for those that bought the CD last year lol . Got sent links for the general sale and what a racket , £600-662 per ticket ..think there will be a glut for sale in June/August from the greedy sods trying to make a hefty margin.
To answer the original question, most I've paid was probably pushing £85 for Rush and or Maiden . My daughter did GCSE'S this year and as well as Swift is a massive Jonas Brothers fan and they did a one off show at Royal Albert Hall in April and about 150k people trying to get 5000 tix. got 2 in basket in a private box as close to stage as you could get and came up at £460 + £30 fees and I thought fuck it and paid it and she loved it. When I was that age and did O Levels my dad pulled boat out and paid for a coach trip to Germany to see Queen and Marillion (£58 return incl gig!) so for her at same age I'm happy to take the hit

I'd suggest hang fire and don't pay as there's an absolute glut of tix at these prices and come next summer nearer show dates they will be available much cheaper ( see Twitter now for her US dates currently and there's loads going for close to face value).

I'm the same with gig tickets - I rarely pass £30 although that seems to have increased to £40 recently.
The most I've paid for a general gig was £115 for Elton John earlier this year. I'm not a huge fan but saw it as possibly the last chance to see an icon. Second most was last week, about £90 for Depeche Mode.
I paid £120 to see Joe Hisaishi and orchestra in Paris. It was well worth it and one of only two times live music has made me cry.

About 1200 SEK (£95) for a festival One day-ticket. I saw Neil Young, and that was the goal, but I also saw the girls in the swedish band Sahara Hotnights before, on the same stage. I didn't leave my spot. I realised the sound level actually was a bit lower closer to the stage. Must have been the PA speaker system hanging a bit out above the crowd.

My mrs paid a fortune I think 135 each for two eagles tickets for my Christmas present last year.
She’s stopped going to take that and Robbie Williams as nearly £100 is the standard price.
Even if we had a physical media the price would be the same. I think they charge what they know they can get away with

I can only reiterate, regarding the Taylor Swift tour, about best strategy being to JUST WAIT til much closer to show time. So many parasitic greedy fuckers on sites selling these at top dollar (seen my £112 tix for pushing £4k) and I genuinely believe nearer the time the prices will plummet . Been keeping an eye on the current US dates and upcoming shows in California seem readily available and people seemingly desperate to offload at way more reasonable prices .
I'm debating trying to get tix for Roger Waters one-off London Palladium show later in year for the Dark Side revamp launch but be nice to see the prices first and call it from there. Off on hols this week to France and driving and less than helpfully (OR thank fuck it happened now, from a different viewpoint!) my clutch died yesterday and with a couple of other things that also needed doing,I'm not exactly flush this week so Roger may not be possible even if I can get tix. From experience,Palladium is a bloody uncomfortable venue too,not built for the tall among us 😂
