That's interesting, has vaping just become a fashionable 'habit' now, seen as acceptable and no longer a route to packing in the fags. This. I currently teach in Further Education and a huge proportion of students (16+) are vaping. They certainly are not doing it to quit smoking. It is now a trend to follow and something which is seen as fashionable. I think they are marketed in quite a devious way as well. Vapes come in a whole range of different fancy designs and colours whilst there is a never ending list of new flavours to try. As someone else has already mentioned, it feels like they are being marketed at youngsters. It would not surprise me if in the next decade a study comes out that demonstrates that they have long-term health implications. Pretty sure the disposable type ones the kids chuff on are being wiped out pretty soon. So the government say anyway🤷🏻♂️ I feel a bit ashamed I still do it to be honest, I gave up smoking a few years ago and turned to vapes as a way of doing that. It was cheap and tobacco flavoured only. Fast forward 5 years and it’s a kids fashion piece with any flavour you could imagine.

Those elfbars and disposables are pure evil.
Going from personal experience, smoking roll ups with no filter is far healthier

I must admit it does amuse me when I'm stood in a queue in Londis, arms full of stuff (baskets are for girls) while a grown adult human male at the front procrastinates and agonises over a choice between watermelon or blueberry flavoured vapor to puff on.

Bet you even look like Omid Scobie too. Badger, the baby faced assassin.

Vaping is disgusting. Should be banned.

I'd ban plug in air fresheners at the same time - constantly pumping chemicals into the air we breathe!

Any of you sit next to a photocopier or printer at work? No sorry. I think Rymans do it for 10p a page. 😉

I'd ban plug in air fresheners at the same time - constantly pumping chemicals into the air we breathe! The refills for those were one of the top 5 stolen items from the ASDA I used to work in some years ago. Apparently the kids were inhaling the stuff neat and effectively melting their nostrils in an attempt to get high.

The NHS were foolish to not more harshly condemn vaping and the media hasn’t helped either. The American Cancer Society doesn’t recommend vaping as a cessation strategy for smoking, neither does the American Lung Association. There’s a tonne of shitty products in vape that we don’t understand. The findings around smoking cessation are murky: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8044675/And there is strong evidence that vaping represents a gateway for teenagers to cigarettes. I think that the harm (attracting young kids to smoking) outweighs the benefit (potentially helping some people quit).
