After seeing bully boy tactics around the country how nice was it to interact, chat and laugh with the local old bill.Really helpful but never in your face. Loads of em about but never made anyone feel uncomfortable. Congrats to them all...perhaps west mids and greater manchester police should spend some time with them!!!

I'd praised the stewarding at Cardiff a few weeks back aswell, how refreshing that in the main from what I could see they were pretty relaxed and welcoming again at Watford. I couldn't really rate the police at Cardiff as unusually there really weren't many of them there aside from a couple of Stoke/Cardiff Liasion officers, & some outside the away coach park doing traffic duties. Did notice there was alot of officers around and about Vicarage Lane and in the main town area bit aswell yesterday (Bank Holiday Pay perhaps! 🤔😉) but all was very low key & friendly & interactive where they needed to be. Did initally think having their riot helmets attached to their belts from the off could have been a clue as to what was to come (in West Mids & GMP it would be!) but absolutely nothing materialised and all remained good natured. I know they were busy with the recent Luton - Watford match so they probably just set out as they mean to go on & were ready for any eventuality for each match. Guessing yesterday being a nothing match for both teams kind took a lot of the tensions away. Millwall v Blackburn saw some unsavoury action but guessing nothings a suprise when Millwall are involved, especially in a Play Off contention match!

You can find trouble anywhere if you’re looking for it. The Police should operate within the law, and in I’d suggest 99% of the time they do, unfortunately let down by a tiny percentage.

Yep they were fine, helpful and friendly, just as they should be. Tooled up but never threatening and importantly treated us as fans not troublemakers.

I was in central Watford for something else when they played Sunderland - just after Sunderland's manager came to us. The two sets of fans were in and around the same pub and were laughing and joking together and with the police. It was great to see. There were some interesting chants about Sunderland's ex-manager ...

Watford has always been a good away day. We normally always get a decent result there as well!

Despite being a miserable day all round, nothing kicked off in the end.
I went outside from some 'fresh' air at HT, and there was a few d*ckheads having a go at the police who were simply standing there minding their own business. Once lad got dragged out and taken away for throwing something at an officer I think. There was also a bit of tension about the fact that there was no alcohol on sale in the ground.
Stoke fans don't help themselves at times 🤦♂️

That's probably true for most forces most of the time but some forces it's absolutely not 'a tiny percentage' I dare bet out of the tens of thousands it is a tiny proportion. It just is. It should be 0% agreed but the laziness of labelling them all or most or a large % is just incorrect. Most police are excellent.
