They are better. The league table tells you they are better, in fact, they're far better. They are more effective and consistent than us but not necessarily better. Playing at our best we are better than any other Championship team but we can't do that for a prolonged run of games and can't find a way of winning when we are not at our best. I am praying for Luton preferably or Coventry to go up. We can't play against their levels of organisation and method of play. May sound a bit like Mowbray but I'd much rather have the teams who play like Sunderland and Middlesbrough rather than ones that rely on one player up front and sitting back like Coventry or teams like Luton who physically bully the opposition. The games are generally better and we are more likely to get a result if the opposition want the ball as much as we do. Re: coventry quote.. "Can't play against their levels of organisation and method of play" I thought we just played them off the park a month ago, which would suggest we can play against this type of team. What we can't do is seemingly do this for any period of time other than a 3 or 4 game purple patch.

Yes of course but this thread isn't about Stoke Admin needs to get a grip of these threads that are started as veiled attempts to slag Stoke off. In reality hardly any Stoke supporter I know gives a flying fuck about Sunderland or Luton. Most of the comments on these threads are basically look how bad we are compared to them. Look how well run they are, look how they run through a brick wall for the club...blah blah blah. Sunderland were a basket case not so long ago and Luton will vanish into obscurity again in the not to distant future. It's becoming really tedious. We all know it's been a shit show for about six seasons but saying the same things over and over again isn't going to solve anything. What a load of shit you are talking I started this thread because even though I've supported Stoke for over 55 years and had a season ticket for 40years I still appreciate other teams when they have had a great season yes I don't know you and to be honest don't want to but I do give a flying fuck about them

My gripe is really with those who pile in after, using it as an excuse to go over the same ground covered on nearly every other thread. You may well have some interest in Sunderland but the vast majority of those replying don't. Read through this and the Luton one and the motives of the majority are patently obvious. Edit: Majority is wrong. A better phrase would be vocal minority.

Aye, it's a worrying situation for the fans - the vast majority love Mowbray, he's an excellent fit for the club but it appears they are looking longer term. It has the potential to back fire massively We will definitely miss Amad Diallo, but we've won games without him and it's a chance for others to step up. Saw this the other day being reported, makes you wonder if it wasn’t always the plan at the end of this season and maybe explains even more Alex Neil jumping ship If it WAS always the plan, then no-one told Mowbray as he was stating post-match that he wants to stay. Has potential to be a massive, massive fuck up if we gamble on changing. Neil jumped ship for more money and a greater say over transfers.

We just couldn't live with their physicality - 6'4" lads up against midget midfielders being asked to play in defence. Credit to them, they know their jobs and they execute their gameplan. I wouldn't want to watch that style of hoofball every week, but it's working for them and fair play. might have been a different game if Batth, Ballard & Stewart had been available This is a key reason I think Luton will lose at Wembley Boro and Cov have centre backs available Simply pumping it in, which is all Luton did(or needed to do) isn't going to be enough Luton v Coventry in a play off final. Absolutely minging. Can I vote that neither of them go up?
