If only he would be interested, eh?.. I fear we missed the boat on him offering his signature. He’s got enough money in the bank to not worry and where better to rebuild your reputation than a team that needs to be rebuilt from top to bottom Sorry to ask but what exactly does he have in the bank, an Icelandic Bank I presume? Potter ?? If so misread, apologies in advance

Maybe .. but to be honest I don't think he actually needs to rebuild his reputation after Chelsea. Plenty of Premiership clubs will likely be offering him a position, I would have thought. Yes probably but maybe he wants a break from the premiership pressures and bullshit and do something his way I can see him returning to Brighton The biggest issue, for me, is that regardless of whether or not he'd come, the owners won't even be thinking about it or anything like it.

Not the way they are playing but I'd take a wager that swap Laurent, Campbell, Sterling for three of their players you would still say the same. It's the way they are organised that makes average players look better. I agree with style of play, but when you only have 3 players of note to start with, what on earth do you do to accomodate the others? Do you honestly feel that any of the Watford players would be looking good at Stoke after three months here? We bring in players who have looked good at their previous clubs and start well here and then gradually lose form.

Watching in sunny Adeje in Tenerife in a bar full of Boro supporters, them watching on the main screen and me, on my own, in a corner watching Stoke, with no sound Sorry if someone else has already said this but it appears the half time talk had the normal impact. Did OK first half, second half awful. Thank goodness there is no more for 3 months. Is Neil capable or sorting this???

I don't expect anyone to be happy with this season, but everyone knows it was not AN's fault. Some fools still believe that he saved us from relegation. We just have to hope that either by luck or judgement he assembles a decent side for next year. PRAY. ? Not the manager's fault? Who's being organising and motivating them for the last nine months then. Perhaps you said the same about MON. I had more hope that MON would be successful here than I have with Alex Neil. He had five of his choice loan players since Christmas on top of some of the better players in the Championship (Wilmot, Campbell, Powell, Laurent) but still couldn't organise them to at least not lise at home. Of course it's his fault. I would be interested to know if any manager who took over a Championship club this season, including those who have subsequently been sacked, have had a worse record than Neil. I'm afraid you missed the irony in my first sentence. The clue was in my second sentence. I was given dog's abuse when I stated that MON would have done better than AN. MON finished on 62 points last year and improved his points tally each year he was here, while dismantling a whole squad, slashing the wage bill and keeping us the right side of FFP . We really have to just hope for the best with the rebuild. Personally, I think that we are just going to hear more excuses next year. How we were in for some great players and while we were waiting on them to decide, we lost out on the players that we might actually have got. We will probably wind up paying over the odds in wages and length of contracts again for another lot of bad signings.

It's quite simple. Get our recruitment as bad as we have for the last 5 years and we will be a League One club next season and frankly, we'd deserve it. I don't trust a single person at this club to get it right. Yep, beyond the glimmer of hope that emerged briefly around March time, it doesn't bode well at all for next season. After that Coventry performance, people were (understandably) talking us up as next season's champions! If we had carried on in a similar vein, I might have been tempted towards some positivity for next year, but it was clearly a false dawn. Bizarre how bad we've gone back to, because that performance was one of the best full 90 minute performances I've seen from Stoke in years, and certainly since the PL days.

Oh well. Look on the bright side. We now get 3 months off, without having to worry about that shower of shite ruining our weekends/days/evenings* (*delete as appropriate).

A 70 something pensioner has come out of retirement for a couple of months and shown how to organise and motivate a pretty mediocre group of players. It wouldn't bother me if AN went tonight..if I didn't think John would be crawling through broken glass to get Steve Bruce. Get potter in
I wondered about Potter - didn't he want to come here before he went to Brighton?

Potter applied twice, before and then after Lambert. I don't recall any confirmation that we even interviewed him, Rowett was the up and coming manager the board were tracking.
No way he would come here now.

My apologies, I was skim reading not intending to make any comments but noticed the 'not the manager's fault' which was like a red rag to me. I am fed up of hearing excuses like 'they are not his players' or 'he needs two or three transfer windows' or 'he's sorted out the mess behind the scenes'(weren't we told MON had done that?) The important thing for a manager first and foremost is to get results. How he couldn't build on the good run we had I can't believe even though I predicted it.

Fucking Gayle on. What is the point of putting these young players on the bench? Was will to give Neil the benefit of the doubt but in reality it has been a disaster. No point sacking him as we will only end up hiring another boring British manager. No excuse for Not using all of our subs Not using the youngsters

If Leicester come down it must be written in law that those happy clappers are banned I like them 🫣 At least they create some atmosphere - sadly lacking at the Bet 365 for most of the season

I’d imagine that Wrexham have more pulling power than us at the moment. We need probably at least 9 players, and look at how long it has taken Forest to get that number of people to function as a side? An awful lot is going to be placed on Tezgel and Owen’s shoulders just to generate some enthusiasm. The season ticket renewal ( probably like our recruitment olicy) will go down to deadline day. I think I’m beaten.
