Bonham 6 - some brilliant saves but he loses possession so often Sterling 6 Wilmot 7 Fox 7 Hoever 5 Pearson 5 Smallbone 5 Laurent 5 Campbell 5 Gayle 4 Brown 6 - extra point for the goal
Jagielka 4 - too slow Powell 5 - why bother Tymon 5 - wouldn’t know he was on if I went toilet when he came on Thompson 5 - not the man needed when losing
Difficult marking this week as the officiating ruined the game.

Agree with all these scores. I would give Bonham a 5.5 though.

I thought Sterling had a good game.

They seem very generous tbh, we were shit bar the two chances.
Brown a six because he scored and Fox the same for the ball in but after that no one deserves more than a 5 imo.

I thought Sterling had a good game. First goal was on him and I don’t think I saw him in their half second half.

Not sure how Laurent gets above a 3 he was utter gash. The whole midfield was poor. Pearson plays too deep and slows the game down too much while neither Smallbone or Laurent know what to do when there is no space to run into. Our ball retention was awful.

I’ll be kind as I really like Laurent I think he’s running on empty but he’s been awful for 3 games, totally wasteful on the ball. Pearson isn’t fully fit so again happy to give him the benefit of the doubt but he’s also been poor last 3 games. Gayle and Powell today the less said the better…….

You have to question Neil today. The Tymon and Thompson substitutions were mind blowingly dumb. Chasing the game and he basically brings two defensive minded players on. The all to common second half home capitulation by the whole team, mistakes all over the pitch, keeper errors, defensive nightmares, invisible midfield, powder puff front line, so balls to the lot of them. 3's and 4's all round and that's being generous. Games are over 90 minutes (or about 113 today) NOT 45 minutes.

Jagielka 4 - way too slow when the ball is played into the space behind him. Powell 5 Tymon 4 Thompson 5

Bonham 5 - a couple of decent saves but then came and missed for the first goal. Decision making is baffling at times and his distribution puts us under all sorts of pressure. He remains a big problem. Hoever 5 - offered very little as an attacking threat and continues to be too easy to get past defensively. Fox 6 - Excellent contribution for the goal and stood up to physical pressure. Wilmott 6 - We missed him. Sterling - Lack of left foot is an issue, but coped well with little support from Campbell. Pearson 4 - Stupidity to get sent off in the way he did. Was playing very deep in the first half. Smallbone 4 - Offered nothing again. Laurent 4 - Looks leggy. He's a better player when he stops overcomplicating the game. Brown 6 - good goal. The biggest threat of the three up front. Gayle 5 - asked to come deeper to link play but he offers zero goal threat. Campbell 5 - too inconsistent within, and between, games. Jagielka 5 - we naturally get too deep when he plays. Tymon 5 - baffling sub. He's had a desperately poor season. Thompson 6 - at least offers a set piece threat. Powell 5 - can we please stop this pretence that he can play up front. Offers nothing at all.

Bonham 7 Hoever 5 poor today Wilmot 7 Fox 8 best player on pitch first half Sterling 6 Pearson 4 too deep Laurent 5 Smallbone 5 forms gone down toilet last 3 games Brown 6 Gayle 5 Campbell 6
Subs 4; no one made any impact at all.
Losing Wilmot hurt us a lot Losing Dike improved them a lot.

When he went off we looked so much shakier at the back and he won a few good duels, even the one where that Asante-animal pulled him down and injured him. And that Sterling pass I'm going to show to my kids' team as an example of why you should never ever pass into the middle from a fullback position, even if perhaps Person should have done better to control it.
