He didn't end up actually playing that many games for us, other players in our history have contributed much more, etc. etc.
I appreciate all of that. But Bojan was, if only for a short while, one of the most technically excellent players I've ever seen in a Stoke shirt. He loved it here and it just felt like he took to the fans straight away. He always felt exciting to watch and scored some very good goals: away at Spurs for his first league goal for us, at home to Arsenal in the same season, at home vs Leicester on his first start since his injury, at home to Swansea in the we game drew 2-2 after Hughes inextricably took him off while he was bossing the midfield.
Bojan gave us some great memories, and that's all that matters as a football fan really. When I think of Bojan's time at Stoke I don't massively think about how he 'wasn't quite the same' after his injury, or the fact that he only played 85 games for us. I just remember the goals and the little bits of flair.
Happy birthday to him. Thanks for the memories.

I'd say he's the best footballer, in the purest sense, to have ever played for us. People go on about Hudson/Stan, fine.. call it joint best if you like, I find it hard to believe anyone had *better* technique than Bojan.

I agree mate, footballers these days are totally different animals. Footballers from even 30 years ago wouldn't cope in today's game it's so much faster and they're way more fitter.

Another thing that made Bojan so popular and enjoyable to watch was his joy at playing and scoring. You could tell he absolutely loved being here.

I'll love him til the day I die. sometimes a player and a club are just seemingly made for each other, and I think that's what we had with him. seems such an unlikely relationship on paper but he loved it here from day 1 and we loved him right back. I will never ever get over bojan.

I went on a 40th to Barcelona in 2008. 2 Stoke players scored in a 4-0 win. Can you guess which 2?
