It says he's picking the next manager.
I'd bet any money it will be either Adrian Heath, James O'Connor or Anthony Pulis.

This has to be the most mental story of the season.
I cannot believe anyone would employ Mark Cartwright.

Looks like razor ruddock off wish. The years have not been kind to Mark, hardly recognise him. Looks like the guy who helped me unload an old wardrobe at the tip. On fact, he looks like the old wardrobe.

Souttar, Colins, Campbell, Bursik and no doubt some others that we could move on for a fee signed under him.
As everything else did it unraveled very quickly with some expensive and disastrous recruitment which I doubt he was solely to blame. We're yet to recover but that's more down to the lack of structure at the club.
Not much has changed since he left, could argue it's now worse.

The real question with him was always precisely what he actually did for his money, because from what I could see his influence on recruitment was absolutely minimal.

Only when the signings turned out to be shit. I seem to remember healthy credit being claimed for the good ones Recall Spinks doing an outrageous puff piece on him at one point to that effect. Looking at the recruitment policies of the respective managers of the last few years, I suspect you can count on a webbed foot the number of signings he had a lot to do with.

This isn't a new story, but as part of his Huddersfield media rounds he's confirmed the Imbula-Juventus Sentinel story. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-juventus-giannelli-imbula-transfer-3570074"We brought in our club record signing. 6 months later, we had a double-your-money offer from Juventus. At the time, we went with the manager's viewpoint that I want to build a team around this lad" "But in reality the lad had one eye on Juventus and then when we said no, we've lost him, and then that Β£30m asset suddenly depreciates very, very quickly"

Finding it hard to believe the Juve story.
I think itβs more likely Imbula gave up being a serious footballer when he realised he could continue to pick up his wage from Stoke for 5 years whether he tried or not. If he had been really interested in Juve he would have tried for the clubs he was loaned out to.

I liked Carto. I reckon he drew up the contracts for some very fiddly deals for our most outstanding overseas players before we got relegated and went 'domestic only' in our approach.
I didn't realise Rawlins was at Huddersfield. I wonder what the connection is? I worked with him before he went big time and formed his own sales training company before flogging it at the right time for a princely sum.

The connection from what I can tell is Beswicks (where Carto used to work), some old Burnley directors, with Adrian Heath involved somewhere along the way being an ex Burnley player and manager. It was the former two entities and Rawlins that setup the Austin Aztecs, and subsequently Orlando City with Heath being the manager at both. You'd imagine old Carto being involved with that somewhere along the line and with the new Huddersfield owners being American, you'd imagine they came across Rawlins at some stage of his career in the US.
