RIP
I thought he was older than 67, but still a bit of a surprise. He did such a lot of good work for dogs.

Such heartbreaking news of a genuinely lovely man who had immense compassion for dogs and their welfare. Had the pleasure of meeting him twice in Liverpool when he was on tour. He had time for anybody and was such a character. RIP Paul.

Lily Savage was the first drag act I had ever seen when I saw her (him?) on tv. He brought issues to mainstream tv ahead of his time. RIP.

RIP Paul, always been a big fan. Just a very funny and decent chap. And as others mentioned, such a huge dog lover too. One of the good ones. Very sad news.

A sad end to a remarkable career. From a Working Class family he became a Social worker - and a good one by all accounts. Then became Lily Savage almost by accident after working at a club where he was of the opinion that the hostess (a drag queen) wasn't very good and the manager challenged him to do the job himself if he felt he could do any better. Finally came out of drag as himself, Paul O'Grady, a much loved and well respected TV and Radio presenter, animal lover and all round good bloke who was both funny, opinionated and worth listening to.
RIP Paul - you made me laugh and probably helped to make many of us us Brits a little more tolerant of diversity.
