Well he nearly cost us in the end with 3 bad subs. First 80 mins we were great
I’ll give him 7 minus 1 for each shit sub
I’m sure he will learn from that though

8 from me
Was an easy 10 and coasting and then those pathetic substitutions nearly undid all his good work, and he has to take responsibility for that. They seemed to be largely unforced changes and completely destabilised us

9 as on the whole it was brilliant and love to see us going for the throat every game. He's turning us around and it's great to watch at the minute. Took a point off for the subs but in his defence he should be able to bring on professional players in the squad to see a three nil game out with ten minutes to play. He also said in the sky interview after that it changed after the subs and it will give him something to think about or food for thought so hopefully we won't see Clucas again. Keep it up though on the whole though Alex Neil because it's brilliant at the minute.

8 - would have been more but for the subs, taking Gayle and Campbell off allowed them to come forward more as they had little to worry about at the back, taking Pearson off compounded it.

I’m running out of superlatives for AN.
The substitutions were perfectly understandable considering we have two more tough games this week.
It’s not really the manager’s fault that Bonham stylises his keeping on Peter Bonetti against West Germany in 1970.

8. Was a nailed on 10 but took too many key players off all at once and we could have thrown it all away. It was right to make subs at that point to protect key players with 3 games in a week but it was too many all at once and the confusion and drop in quality was taken advantage of.
Other than that though, fantastic stuff for 80 minutes and some real positivity to look forward to.

They were a nice little team and you could see in parts why they are up there in this league, but we could have had another 4 or 5 margin there instead of a bit of a shakey ending.
We really have left ourselves short defensively, still having to play square pegs and it nearly cost us tonight - be interesting to see how we go on defensively in the next two games.
That said, we are just giving it a good go at the moment and the next two games are going to be entertaining no matter what - but possibly going to need to score a minimum of 3 to stick a chance
8 for me over the 90 mins tonight - we have a clever manager here - who amongst us thought we would win the last 2 games and score 8 goals in the process.
4 more points to go for safety and move on to planning for next season - there is reason for optimism for the first time in a while, but that depends on how many loans we can keep in the pre-season and getting some numbers and quality in all defensive positions

9 - not his fault that he couldn’t replace most players in the Jan window and that Bonham has one of his moments.
AN loses a point though for bringing on Clucas who should never play for the club again. He really is that bad.

8. Subbing Gayle made sense; subbing Pearson, Laurent and Campbell was reckless.

I thought he gave a good interview on Sky afterwards. He recognised the issues after his substitutions and appeared focused and confident.

As everyone but everyone noticed the subs reduced us into a complete mess. Think AN said when we win there's not too much to analyse because the job is done and you move onto the next game - I'd like to think he and his team will analyse that last 10 minute 'loss' and realise that Clucas is really shit and Thompson and Tymon ain't much better. Judging by his reaction in his interview, he seems to be onto it.

Would have been a 10 but his substitutions nearly cost us two points, so an 8 from me. Maybe it was a good lesson for him... don't weaken your team in such a reckless manner again.

8. You can see his methodology coming to fruition and he is now using something close to his preferred formation with round pegs in round holes in the main. Whoever told him we have a squad for 3 at the back when he came in wants sacking! The obvious negatives were what I thought were unnecessary subs but he addressed that after the game and hopefully he has learned a thing or two about the fringe players from that last 10 minutes or so alone. All in all it was a great performance slightly tarnished by the late madness.

By AN’s admission the subs did not help at all.
Great performance for 80 minutes.

8 It would have been a 10 we battered them till he made the subs. Taking Pearson off changed the game they could not handle him. We must do everything possible to make him a permanent signing.

agree , that by his own admission, AN thought the subs didn't help .
tbf to him , if I was stoke manager and I knew we had a tough away trip to boro on tuesday , I would have done the same . I would have thought , tough away game on tuesday , no point getting key players over tired , muscle strain , roll an ankle or whatever , or even get sent off ! when we have already won the game . Events would have proved me wrong , but I would have thought it sensible to rest one or two for the last ten minutes , especially if they are on a yellow card.
Those subbed on have given a stunningly bad account of themselves , but I can't really blame AN for that .
9 from me

Very disappointing. Baker was ok but the rest just got caught cold

Didn’t do much wrong for me, two goals conceded at the end included. Needed to make changes with a game on Tuesday and it isn’t his fault whatsoever the substitutes took us back to the MON days.
Top calculated performance and since deadline day he’s been a clever manager that makes mistakes and learns from them. Let’s see if Sam Clucas plays again for SCFC.
He’s got us - for once - wanting to keep every loan player we’ve got. Imagine the majority of folk on here loving Smallbone 2-3 months ago. Would’ve been considered mental.

Tymon did himself no favours. Did not get close enough to his man, waved his leg and failed to stop the cross that led to their first goal. He’s done the same many times already this season.

Would have given him 9 but for the poor substitutions which almost cost us. Taylor should have come on when Pearson went off and Laurent and Campbell should have stayed on. Can only give him 6

A manager who learns from past mistakes?! I'm unfamiliar with that sorcery. Agree that subs needed to happen due to the M'Boro match coming up, but holy hell those subs...
I'd score him a 8 since it was a huge win, would have been a 9 or 10 except for the subs.
I rate myself only a 4 because after their second goal, got all pissy negative and spilled a beer. (No excuse for that and I will work on beer-finishing this week) (My cursing & shouting remains at a level 10 though, so no worries)
Am blaming it on being rattled by encountering an Arsenal fan, which set the tone for the whole week. The US has enough problems without also suffering from local-infestations of Arsenal fans ffs. There should be a spray of some kind.
