Mixture of weak as piss defending mixed with Arnie being fkn mint.
Sunderland were very very bad that day mind. Donald Love at RB had no chance against Arnie.

The first touch for the first goal 🥹🥹🥹
None of our players have it in their locker to even come close to that.

That second Arnie goal was total football. I hope we see football like that again one day.

Beautiful, beautiful football. What a team we had. It makes you weep. It makes me happy. I started supporting Stoke during the Mills / Ball relegation season, and have seen us play both brilliantly and terribly in 3 of the 4 English divisions. I’m happy that I got to see us play that way, and am confident it’ll happen again.

How far away we are from piecing together a move that’s even remotely close to that second goal is actually frightening.

Makes me happy to know I got to see these games / players.
Not many can say they're seen us win away in Europe.
Mine was Tel Aviv. Absolutely fucking pissed as a newt. Drinking since 9am. But I haven't forgot a single second of it.
Makes me sad to see just how far we have fallen in a short space of time.
Arnie leaving really, for me, was the catalyst. We never recovered from that.

Said it at the time when he played for us and watching clips like this just reaffirms it....
Arnautovic had world class footballing ability in his feet. The best footballer I've ever seen play for Stoke.

He is the worst RB we have had imo, and we’ve been in league one for around half a decade. He’s found his level now getting regular football. At Morecambe. Near the relegation zone in league one.

Arnie and Shaq played a different sport to today’s squad. On closer reflection so did the majority of our team from about 2010 till relegation.
I remember referring to that second goal in Partridge terms: ‘liquid football “.

Would have loved Tel Aviv .Actually been Israel on a tour . Went Jerusalem ,Bethlehem, Dead Sea , Sea of Galilee, Tel Aviv ,Yad Vashem and others can't remember . Plus a week staying in Eilat. Highly recommended it if they still let you go there .

Being happy it happened isn't in the equation. 🙂

Probably should’ve given Arnie that new contract, would’ve saved a few hundred million…

Towards the end of the season he had a "what the fuck am I doing here attitude" Plus he was about as physical as a schoolgirl. Good size but had neither idea nor appetite to use it proper pussy. He could have been a lot better than he was but in terms of replacing your main goal threat and creative force doomed to failure. Hughes had by that point lost the plot and was overly concerned with proving the nay sayers wrong (Pulistas, Rimmers) that he could set a team up defensively. Lost sight of what had made his tenure a success. Lambert doubled down on that and we went from being a side that was great to watch to one that couldn’t score in a brothel.

We needed goals and failed miserably. It was massively short sighted. Who we could have signed I don't know. These transfers in and out make me feel sick though www.transfermarkt.co.uk/stoke-city/transfers/verein/512/saison_id/2017

We should have been looking to invest in two £15/20 forwards we had a zero net spend and blew all the Arnie money on defenders. It would have been folly even if they were really good defenders. They panicked in January and found some money to spend and spent it on a DM and a RB again pure folly, where were the goals going to come from. Crouch ? FFS.
