Liza Tarbuck was brilliant, as were Bob Mortimer and James Acaster but, like the OP, Fern Brady immediately sprang to mind but that may be more to do with the fact I quite fancy her (and until recently, I had no idea she had been diagnosed with ASD...not relevant just an interesting snippet of info about her). One of the best tasks was the picking up ducks while Alex was cycling around, also Bob and his special cuddle. The "how many spaghetti hoops" ongoing thing with Josh Widdicombe was quality also (likewise the "cheeky texts" from Mark Watson)

Bobs cuddle was class, also a shout out for Acaster losing his shit with the taskmaster and Rhod Gilbert

I also liked Fern Brady but if the question is the best individual task it was Romesh Raganathan's Tree Wizard from one of the early series. The task was to create a video that would then be played backwards.
Btw- did anyone else get into no more jockeys with Alex Horne on YouTube?

I watched some a year or so back, some old Taskmaster contestants have been on that as well. Disappointed with his own more recent show on telly though. All a bit overworked, if that makes sense.

Yeah. It didn't really work I thought. I've listened to the radio shows with the Horne section and they have some funny songs. I definitely wanted to enjoy the tv show a lot more than I actually did.

Best show on tv by far. Big fan of Fern Brady. That John dude on the same series was mental.
Mortimer and team singing about rosalind sticks out.
Not strictly a task but Rod Gilbert was brilliant from tying up Alex Horne to this beauty.

I thought last season was great, really good mix of characters and approaches.
Some memorable moments overall for me: - Mike Wozniaks fart - Tim Vine and the hook - Both of the Rosalind songs but I thought Mark & Nish’s was fantastic (possibly because I wasn’t expecting it) - Joe Wilkinson and the potato in the hole - Mel Giedroyc making an exotic sandwich (“oh gang”) - Lolly and the fishbowls
Favourite contestant is Bob Mortimer though.
Favourite task was the team one to build an extension and the three lads (James, Phil and Rhod) effort and subsequent response from James
