Anyone else insanely hyped for this?
Breath of The Wild (whilst flawed) was the greatest game I’ve ever played. Not had a feeling like that gaming since I was a child.
TOTK has been in extended development and I really hope it lives up to the hype and makes BOTW look like a prototype.
Feel like a kid waiting for Xmas.

It looks visually stunning in it's own unique way.
Been toying with the idea of buying a Switch for the past month or so. Might be going through a nostalgic phase after looking at the old games available via Nintendo Online but there's something that looks really fun about it and I haven't really been on the PS5 for a while now.

If you had an N64 and nostalgia for the classic games of that era then would def give switch a go. Also if you have a missus/kids then switch library tends to be more family friendly. I bought one 3 years ago and have had a blast. Mario kart 8 Mario odyssey Breath of the wild of course Luigi’s mansion 3 Mario 3d world Bowser’s fury All brilliant games. Hopefully tears of the kingdom tops the lot. Also played Mario galaxy (wii) and sunshine (GameCube) for the first time since getting a switch, as they were part of the Mario 3D all stars collection. Both amazing too (galaxy especially)

The missus isn't a gamer at all but I reckon I could tempt her into playing something like Mario Party. I've played Sunshine and Galaxy but wouldn't mind another go on them at some point, remember Sunshine being quite unique. What accessories would you recommend getting? I've got my eye on the white OLED version at the minute.

I've got my eye on the white OLED version at the minute. I’d buy the pro controller. The one thing about the switch is the joy cons are notoriously shit. There’s a known defect called joycon drift where, after a while, the left joycon stick deteriorates which will result in movement without input. There’s a feature in the settings to realign which I used successfully once, but then after could not get to realign and it became unplayable. The pro controller is just a handheld gaming controller (with motion sensor of course, absolutely critical for many games eg breath of the wild when aiming with your bow / looking through binoculars) super nice ergonomics and extremely long rechargeable battery life. If you were playing on tv instead of handheld then it’s a must compared to using joycons freehand. Also forgot to mention there was a modern remake of the original Pokémon games (red/blue/yellow) from game boy which I loved too. Also a few modern remakes of 2d Zeldas. Haven’t played any of those but might be of interest if you played zeldas before ocarina of time. And a few 3D zeldas were re-released on switch. (Skyward sword which was one of the more polarising Zelda games from what I hear, as it was the first title to experiment with motion controls, and apparently the switch version improved some of the annoyances)

Unbelievable game.
A LOT going on. Big learning curve for me and not a Switch person so there is some “I know what I want to do, come on stupid f,f,…..fingers”
One of a very few games in a long, long time where you put the controller down, sick of dying, then as you walk away go “Hang on, what if I tried this?”

Big learning curve for me and not a Switch person so there is some “I know what I want to do, come on stupid f,f,…..fingers” One of a very few games in a long, long time where you put the controller down, sick of dying, then as you walk away go “Hang on, what if I tried this?” I played through BOTW 3x times but struggled with the controls for most of my first play through before it “clicked”. I remember the first playthrough climbing mountains and just throwing bombs at enemy camps because too scared to run in and fuck them up like I would now. It’s an admittedly steep learning curve. Been no lifing TOTK and absolutely obsessed with it. It’s just clear the Nintendo team watched the same critiques that I did when building the sequel. And also clear that BOTW was released to a strict deadline to be ready as a launch game for the system. They’ve taken the bones of a great but flawed game and made a finished product. The new abilities are great but obviously I have the benefit of having already mastered the control scheme in BOTW. I work for myself and don’t have the discipline to work instead of play TOTK. I’m actually thinking I might be best just no lifing it for the rest of the month and getting it out of my system. Addictive personality and these games are my equivalent to having a brick of beak in the drawer.

BotW is my favourite game since my teens. I thought the learning curve was perfect. I've never got such a feeling of freedom and exploration from a game before. Like real life, I wanted to climb a mountain for the view.
Not sure if I'll get around to TotK - I only just finished BotW before it was released, and that was because I went into the final castle room by accident. I was trying to make the experience last as long as I could!
