Is it possible to connect an old VHS-recorder, like one from Luxor, to a modern led tv? The VHS-recorder might be from 1990 and uses Scart connectors.
As I understand it, a modern tv has something called hdmi ports nowadays. Are there any adapters going from Scart to hdmi?
I recently put my VHS collection up on the new shelves here. I need another tv though, nothing wrong with it but it's too heavy.
🤔

Without some sort of remastering, the difference in resolution between what you had on VHS and a modern tv will be quite dramatic.

I will buy a 43" tv, any larger than that wouldn't fit the bench and besides, the living room is also quite small. I know about the pic quality, to compare my Mr Bean recordings on VHS and hdd/dvd is enough. The question was merely about if it's even possible to connect an old vhs-recorder to a new led tv of today. By remastering you don't just mean transfer the vhs tapes to dvd/hdd but manipulating them on a computer as well?

Works fine for me. I set up a VHS / DVD combi player with a scart to HDMI cable, mainly for when I'm converting old VHS or camcorder tapes to DVD and need to see what I'm making copies of.

Thanks for All the answers!
I will jump into the two large cardboard boxes of mine before December to pick the right cable when I've bought a new TV (not on the priority list, furniture must come first). I have hundreds of cables and some were "from Scart to something else".
Happy as long as these things aren't dependent on drivers like in the PC world. Conclusion: it will work. And that's what I wanted to know. 🤠
