Seems PSV are still paying part of his salary so you'd like to think this is pretty risk free. If it doesn't work out we send him back in May and that's that.
Only an injury to Tymon or Sterling away from having no full back so although it may not be a rock the city signing it may prove to be crucial.

It’ll be interesting if we find out Neil’s reasoning behind this signing. By the sounds of it he prefers to play at RB and RWB and influence the game in an attacking sense.
If Sterling isn’t fit he can slot right in but if Sterling is fit I wonder if Neil would play Sterling at LB in a 4 at the back formation with Hoever at RB?

As Bagnall and Rick Grimes mentions above it gives us some options and cover particularly at full back where we've been crying out for it.

Oh good, let’s get rid of one right back as he can’t play wing back and bring in another.
What’s the best case scenario here? Another season long loan in the hope that he plays okay?

Shall we give him a chance, he hasn't even signed yet and we are writing him off. The reports don't look the best in regards to his attitude but let's judge him on his time with us.

We needed a left-sided centre back and a target man (and a dm). A right wing back would have been nice, but a right back seems rather unnecessary.

I asked my wolves supporting friend whose a seaaon ticket holder for her opinion:
"there is a footballer in there but he has the worst attitude ever. He is lazy and doesn't train hard. He needs a manager like Neil to kick him up the arse. I think your saving grace for Ki-Janas perspective is that Sarkic is there so he has a friend to push him too"
Hopefully Neil gives him the boot up the arse he needs.

Surely Sarkic would've given a character reference?

This Wolves journo says he's a RB that coaches hve tried to turn into something else www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/hoever-stoke-city-wolves-transfer-8080885What kind of player is Ki-Jana Hoever? Alex Dicken: He is naturally a right-back, despite Wolves using him predominantly as a right wing-back and Liverpool trying to turn him into a centre-back shortly before his transfer in 2020. He has had some good games in the Premier League for Wolves - against Chelsea in December 2021, he played his part in an impressive clean sheet - but Hoever will benefit from dropping down to the Championship and playing regularly. Defensively he is quite sound, but he didn't offer the same attacking output that Nelson Semedo managed at right wing-back for Wolves. He needs to become more complete to forge a career in the Premier League as a right-back.

Always interesting to get a player who has the potential to be so much better than he has been in recent times. You just never know but clearly the manager (who is fully aware of how important this window is to him personally) is prepared to back himself to get an improvement and as such we live in hope. As always we have to accept there is a vast amount going on behind the scenes that we, even in these social media days, know less than nothing about.

Wonder if it is possible that Sterling may go? Shirley we're not going to rely on this young lad with a very dubious attitude as our only right back option. We could of course make Sterling permanent.

Wouldn't surprise me if we signed Sterling on a free if possible like we did with Baker?! Possible, but should we? There is of course, a good player in there. However, he’s never fit. He was ill at Chelsea. Last season was cut short because of serious injury. Do we need to bring in another player who can’t be relied upon to do their job?

So we get rid of flint who was shite And we get a temperamental hoever We have had more than our fair share of bad eggs at the club We definitely don’t need another Not the best poetry I've ever read, but at least you got a couple of lines to rhyme so better than a lot of modern bollocks.

This is a very strange one. Mainly a right-back, and rumours of attitude problems and no impression made at Wolves or PSV Just the way we like them (broken). The charity home is gone and the dogs home is coming back

I suppose it does all make some sense. We've created a bit of a vacuum in defence so we're going to bring in a Hoever.

www.wolves.co.uk/news/loan-watch/20230127-hoever-completes-new-loan-move/“It’s closer to home and it’s the Championship, which is one of, if not the best development league for the Premier League. The fact he’s 45 minutes up the road, plus in the Championship at a big club like Stoke, it’s great for him and us. “ He’s really excited. He was very proactive in the move and it’s something he wanted. He wants games for a team looking to get into the play-off mix and it’s a great opportunity, in a great league, at a great club. Matija is there so he has that familiarisation too, so this move ticks every box.”
