People are free to say whatever they want. But words can have consequences (see defamation laws).
I'm sure it has been on the news not only in Sweden but around the world, including England.
Someone had hung a doll upside down that looked like Erdogan, somewhere in Stockholm. I read, historically it had something to do with Mussolini. However, I'm not at all interested in history, a totally pointless area if you ask me.
Nevertheless, our Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, M Party (the Conservatives) accused the group who had done this for sabotage during our Nato application and that it also was disgusting.
Then some so called expert regarding freedom of speech said the Prime Minister should shut up, since we have freedom of speech here (a remark of mine: sort of anyway).
The action with the doll can't get anyone victed since it wasn't against any law, they said tonight. Not against any defamation law either.
THIS has been on the news all day and all evening. Plus handball. Practically, nothing else!
A conflict between freedom of speech and what's appropriate in certain situations.
Personally I don't get it. If someone hangs a doll upside down in the name of freedom of speech, why can't our own Prime minister have any objections about it in the name of freedom of speech as well???
🤔
Edith: I've actually noticed two more news here today.
1) some nutter here who is considered the striptease king or something had called the Sports union and required sex to be considered a sport, just like boxing, football, handball, athletics and should be a part of the Olympic games.
2) a new trend here (and perhaps worldwide) amongst youngsters is to say a person is dead who is alive, to a person who admires or loves that person. Sickos!🖕
