I live in Stockport and so keep an eye on their results. Spotted that Douglas James-Taylor started up front for them yesterday. Only 1 goal in 14 appearances though, so seems to be struggling in League 1. |

I’m assuming he means the first teamers who regularly let us down and I tend to agree on the whole but there are one or two that I don’t dislike, and to level that at a youth player, never played a first team game, boyhood Stoke fan is just insanity and he frankly deserves a million times better and our best wishes for the future. |

And in this case (if he'd watched Goodwin) he would have seen a player put his heart and soul into playing. He never hid, he learned and he got better. I don't really rate him but the lad has worked hard and earned a 2.5 year deal at a League One (I thought they were L2 tbf) club, which is a great reward for his efforts with us and Torquay. He's taken his chances and long may he do that. |

That's a bit of a vote of faith from a club like Cheltenham.
6 in 24 in the National League doesn't seem eye-catching, but he does seem a really hard worker and he could develop with games.
Bit of a shame as it was a nice story when he signed, but he doesn't look close to Champ standard at the moment.

Oh ok. I thought he might have meant our academy players, given that fucking all our senior players off and replacing them with just a keeper and a couple of forwards wouldn’t make much sense. Not that getting rid of the academy players makes any sense either! |

His brief FA Cup moment of glory will give him hunger to achieve again. Guessing Wade Elliot had seen the potential in him from his time at Stoke aswell to make him a permanent signing for Cheltenham |

Being based down at Brize Norton I’ll be making the trip to Cheltenham to keep an eye on his progress from time to time. Fingers crossed he makes a good career out of it. |

As someone with a toe or two in the Cheltenham camp, that is a huge show of faith in Will. 2.5 year contracts for a club of Cheltenham’s size and budget is pretty rare indeed. He’ll have a bit of pressure from the off as the fans are desperate for goals, as they’re the lowest scorers int he league and are in a bad run of getting edged out of close games by the odd goal. Add to that the abject failure of Norton. Wishing him every success. Seize your chance lad. |
