I am from Dublin and have supported Stoke for nearly 50 years (blame TC). I normally get to 8 to 10 matches a season but this is the first season where I just haven't got the desire to go to a match(my 2 lads and Mrs also come) Its hard to know where our main problems are but for me there is no one on the pitch who seems to bothered when we don't win, this lack of desire is resulting in the fans turning on the players when things go wrong (we were always cranky in fairness but now we have a good reason). I was fairly optimistic at the start of the season that we had a squad that would be competitive but now I would settle for staying up.Am i being too negative?

I have supported Stoke for 60 years and like you no longer attend (health reasons) and i feel the missing link for us a local lad to drive the team on (Nick Powell is not a captain) to lead by example. p.s. what part of Dublin ?step mum was from Ashtown by Phoenix park.

One of the all-time great films, must have watched it dozens of times - never disappoints. Wonderful theme song also. I reckon Robert Huth, if he had been born 40 or so years earlier, could have played the Panzer Kommandant. Up Yours Baby!

Disappointing second album, however. Wasn't their bassist on the "identity parade" slot on Never Mind The Buzzcocks a few years back? "Ladies and Gentleman, Dave Trousers. Now stacking shelves in Aldi back in the studio recording new material".

No No. The club is becoming increasingly disconnected from the fans. Then again was it ever really connected. There was the season of free away travel, had a season of discounted season tickets, but apart from that I think the fans have been mainly disregarded. I wouldn't quite say treated like shit but almost. It's many small-ish things, some bigger things, I don't think they really give a toss. Take the parking as one example of many. Yes there was a coming together in the first few years of the PL, but I think we were aligned, not so much by intention but just a common enemy and the seige mentality that developed around that time. As that dissipated then so that alliance broke down and has continued to do so to get back to how it was before. There is no desire or need for the team, the board and the fans to be on the same side, which is why it's falling apart. It needs some adversity to force those parties together and until then the decline continues. All very sad and so self-inflicted. What a waste.

Unfortunately the negative vibes are justified, there is no fight in this team
I think we have played league one sides three times this season ( couple of friendlies and a cup game) and we have lost every match. One of the sides ( Morecambe?) Only had ten men and they still bullied us out of it .
Another game ,we were two down to Accrington Stanley after ten minutes and didn't have the where with all , to change gear , have a go and make a fight of it for the last eighty minutes.
Any team , that doesn't have the fight and belief to BELIEVE that eighty minutes on the clock gives them the opportunity to get back in the game, against a lower league team, is most likely beyond hope.

Fair play to you for travelling so far and so often, especially with little or no prospect of success, or even entertainment. I used to have a full car travelling from Leicester every week, now it's just me and may lad most home games, plus maybe a couple of others for away matches. I don't blame anyone who has lost heart, it is a frustrating life being a Stokie...but you have to hope things will get better...'tho apparently it's the hope that kills you

Ah, Dublin Stokies! I am from Deansgrange originally, though I live in New York. A fan for 50 years plus also. My daughter who lives in D.C is also a fan and her local bar even has a Stoke flag. Poor girl. She's losing heart too. But it's a long road that has no turning ....

My answer was no he is not! Doh

The bar would be better off replacing that Stoke flag with that team from Tuvalu who were posted a couple weeks back instead. Tuvalu A-League Winners in 2000,2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2022, so they've seen more success than Stoke have in that time

Just to make Newyorkpotter feel at home... For the last thirty years, I have lived in Rowanbyrn, about two hundred yards from Deansgrange Cemetary!! Just to think, we could have spent every Saturday afternoon crying into each others pints in The Grange Pub (or Baker's Corner!)

I very possibly new him to see, but I wasn't there very often. I spent most of my time in Mount Merrion House, as they sponsored the team I played with.
