Shame that, I loved the old Goodison Park, set as it is among terraced streets, one of the most evocative grounds in the country.

Totally disagree shocking facilities, view dreadful, like watching football 100 years ago,it should have been knocked down years ago, but we are all entitled to our opinions

Oh but they'll spend 50 + million and bounce right back up. Yeah right - might want to ask a few Stoke fans about that one.

I think it will be great and the new location would suit the away fans more. I think it's great for English football that these purpose built stadiums are being made, I definitely see it as progress where people think about the match going public and their needs rather than simply playing football in a location because it's where they decided to kick a ball about 100+ years ago. Let the lower leagues have the nostalgia and the evocative atmosphere but when I go to watch my team at a good sized club I want it to be impressed and not have it be a massive pain in the arse.

Walked around Goodison and Anfield fairly recently mind and thought both looked shabby and rundown. Everton's new stadium will look mint on the docks mind. Great location isn't it! I'm not sure if there's much space along the docks for big developments, so Everton managing to get a stadium built there is brilliant for the city and the team.

Another example of giving ex-Prem players a managerial job undeservingly. Gerrard went to Rangers which is a big job too, and couldn’t handle Villa. They should cut their teeth in a lower league first and build up their portfolio in my opinion. I feel bad for other managers who start lower down and work their way up. Don’t get me wrong, some lower league managers are where they should be, but it must smack them in the face when ex player X lands top job just because they were good as a player, it doesn’t automatically make you a good manager.
Rant over 😆

I much prefer the older grounds,Palace,Fulham etc…..you can feel the history and stuff. The atmosphere is generally better and for me it’s nostalgic, and reminds of how and why I fell in love with following Stoke.

I'm the same, I like the full authentic experience. I've never been too hung up on 'the view'. It's like the great bullring in Pamplona spoken of in Hemingway's 'Death in the afternoon ' no one would say the leg room isn't very good, let's knock it down and rebuild a lego stadium out of town next to a dual carriage way and a furniture store. I mean, just no...

im with the former opinion, there is something lovely about Goodison and its age, it will be a massive shame when it goes Good to visit once a season. Probably not great to go every other week. i get it i really do its crumbling and ramshackle but its proper if that makes sense not like our lego kit stadium or these new ultra modern stadia that are clinical and sanitised, always maintain that you can feel a sense of history when you enter old trafford, compare that to the corporate feel of the new wembley and i know which i would prefer to visit

But there's a difference in moving to a identikit frozen wind tunnel on an old slag heap and moving to an amazing stadium nearer the city centre. I love Goodison - the old stadium looks great and the fact it's still in the middle of terraced housing but it's simply not fit for purpose.

They need to figure out a way of paying for it first so they can finish it, unless they secure a sponsorship deal or extra investment it might end up being a massive white elephant......

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a close look at the progress on the new ground. It is impressive and has the potential to be the best stadium in the country.
However, it isn’t Goodison Park.
