That's quite an impressive 320 Gillingham fans at Barrow. 660 mi roughly there and back They’ve had some good results after a recent change of ownership so their fans are finally feeling positive again after years of stagnation and slide.

Ipswich support is amazing really. I know they are the only club (other than Norwich who's support is also very good) that way really but for a town of 140,000 ish it's bloody good support getting close to 30,000 at home and in league one aswell.

40k got their money’s worth! Eight goals and end to end throughout, was a great game.

So Bolton take 34,000 to Wembley the week after the take 900 to Exeter Really ? A trip to Wembley is really expensive, I imagine plenty missed out for that reason…….

Don't agree. They have a massive catchment area. In their case (same as Norwich) the size of the town is irrelevant. Look at Bradford/Huddersfield/Rotherham/Barnsley/Bolton/Stockport. Do they have shit support or are there other factors influencing their attendances? Newcastle are the same. In some ways you could argue Sunderland are better. Their catchment area is 40%** of the size available to Newcastle in terms of numbers. ** made up % for argument's sake (I can't be arsed looking for facts, I am all about opinions).

Just realised I responded to a post from April when Ipswich were in the 3rd division. Point still stands re. catchment area but 30,000 in the 3rd Division is impressive.

Yeah they were in league 2 when I posted that mate so it was bloody good support and the point still stands that crowds of 30000 in a town of 140000 is very impressive regardless of catchment area imho.
