My favourite game from the Hughes era. Lukaku scored 2 but, had a good battle with Shawcross. Shaq's goad was sublime, took several seconds to realise he'd scored.

Three things for me lol 😂
- lukaku was offside for the first. Var would have had that. - Joselu cupping ears? Why? - magnificent times . That’s all…..took me back to Hudson’a greatness! Bojan, Shaq and Arnie!

Joselu was always someone I would liked to have seen more of. He had a decent pre season on relegation season didn't he? Then Hughes decided to get rid of him.

10 points that December with wins against Man City,Man Utd and Everton and it would have been 11 points if not for a wonder strike from the Palace player in the home loss. I still think the Man City performance was one of our best under Hughes

I still think the Man City performance was one of our best under Hughes The Man United one Arnie should have scored at least 3 On the one hand his finishing was erratic on the other not sure another player would have had those chances to miss, Arnie movement (coupled) with his aggression was superb I wasn't saying this at the time but we should have pushed him up top and accepted the misses

Shaq, Arnie, Bojan FFS I'd donate my right bollock for them in their prime at Stoke again. I am a little sad though now to see how far we have fallen from grace Gouranga.

Bojan, Shaq and Arnie! Didn’t the magical 4 of Shaqiri, Arnie, Bojan and Affelay play together in this game - this was peak Premier League SCFC for me. At the time I couldn’t believe how we played and now I find it so hard to believe it actually happened.

Same here and as well I'll never forgive the board for not trying to build on it instead of wanting to be "self sufficient" who knows what could have happened then. Apparently from the first 2 seasons this was probably my favourite season of football in the prem.

Knobhead Gary said Shaquiris second was a fluke. Just because he only scored tap ins.

Should have been 6

Much the same as when I was a kid in the '70s another two or three seasons in this division and it will all be sadly forgotten. Youngsters will associate Stoke as a lower table second tier club and we will have a lost generation, with just the oldies hanging in there to watch the repetitive humdrum.
It took 30 years the last time I'm not sure I'll be around the next time.

I grew up thinking I'd never see Stoke in the top flight as I started going virtually every game in about 94/95 so had to wait about 14 years but it did happen and it can happen again. We get plenty of shit times as a Stoke fan but I think that when we get those odd good times it makes it that little bit more special. Hang on in there because like my old man always says it's a funny old game.
