Swap Baker and Smallbone around (if Powell not starting) Maybe that's the answer? Smallbone looked way better than I expected played deeper that one game. But Baker's been unconvincing at everything and I think he should arrive late near the box to exploit space. Too far forwards too early and he's stifled. An 8, not a 10.

In my opinion Jacob Brown has improved 'as a footballer' since Alex N came. His ball control seems more reliable.

A comment based entirely on an agenda. The pace of the cross, the attempt by Delap and the fact that Brown was beyond the far post all show that he did well even to get to the ball...say what you see, not what you want to see He missed an open goal. Agenda indeed. Poppycock.

The mismanagement of Diouf comes to mind. Except Diouf didn't look that bad at RWB. I like Brown but he looks terrible there. Really don't see how he gets picked ahead of Clarke there. If I was Burnley and Jacob is playing there on Friday, everything would be going down that side. It also meant we had to play Souttar on the right as cover and that blunted his contribution. Yeah Brown at RWB is definitely a head-scratcher.. seemingly even Neil recognised that given his recent comments about playing Jacob there. It's hard to understand. Regards Diouf, ok or not a RWB, not only was he our Premiership record scorer for a single season, but when we were relegated we struggled for goals whilst spending a fortune trying to get in a functional striker and paying a fortune for Afobe. Diouf was finally sold and he subsequently went on to score 30+ ( I seem to remember) in the Turkish league. I definitely call that poor management.

Grealish just missed a much easier open net one yarder.
Happens.

This place is going soft. Can’t believe I’ve hardly seen a comment about Browns miss from barely a yard out. That lad is absolutely useless. You did the right thing by starting a thread about it then 🙂

No way was that an easy chance. The ball was travelling at pace, he was travelling at pace and the ball had actually gone past the post by the time he made contact. As such he needed to wrap his foot round it to make it go back from where it was coming and that was nigh on impossible given the speed the ball was going and him being at full stretch to make contact. I really do wonder about people on here, especially the comment about the header in the second half. It was hanging ball which he had to get up to and got decent contact and did exactly what you are supposed to and headed it back across the keeper. The angle was tight and he made the keeper make a very decent save. i.e he was too slow

You could compile a video of Erling Haaland to make him look useless.

I thought both Brown and Campbell showed a lack of desire today.
Both went through against the keeper and pussied out. It was embarrassing.
Campbell in the first half had an open goal from a tight angle, if he'd gone with his right he could have squeezed it in.
In attacking areas once again we lack ability, but also desire

What the fuck. Lewis baker is Captain. He should be bursting his gut in goal if necessary. He can't be arsed, like a few others. Definitely doesn't want the challenge for the prem, too much for him obviously. This is his limit, because he can't be arsed. Like tyrese, if he continues he will spend his career telling everyone how awesome he was but never got rewarded, having a nothing career bit like Powell really. The forgotten boy. Honestly looks like he can't be arsed 50% of the time, 100% Under Niel.

Tonight summed up why I can’t abide him.
Weak as piss.
Terrible in the air.
And that one on one, why did he let it bounce? The ball was there to lob the keeper.
Absolutely fucking useless.

Instead, he let it bounce.

Said that this attack tonight wouldn’t score
Brown is a winger and not a very good one at that

A player with an ounce of football brain would have predicted where the ball would come to and been busting a gut to get there. Not Brown though, he was standing admiring Campbell's skill and determination fromm the pound seats on the edge of the penalty area.

Yeah I’ve just watched the highlights, there’s no way Campbell can roll it in. He got the ball back into a dangerous area where any good striker should be.

Jacob Brown is rubbish. He’s just not a very good footballer in either brain or ability.
He’s surrounded by plenty of others who are equally rubbish, none more so than the idiot manager that keeps picking him.
