He was clearly telling the fans to make more noise and rallying support. Absolutely nothing to see there. Did people commenting negatively on this actually watch the game?? I can only guess they weren't. and if not, why are they commenting on it? He definitely shushed the moaners. Rubbish.

I honestly think Campbell’s performance’s since the break have been a real positive and can’t really understand the stick he’s getting on this thread but then I get that people see things differently. However the reaction by a couple of posters on here acting like there’s been some sort of personal attack on them and their family because a bloke cupped his hand to his ear is embarrassing . Grow up

Anyone who is remotely football literate would realise that from watching the game too. Roughly translated as...... If you have a different opinion than that of mine, you know fuck all about football. Do us a favour hey mate...... Sorry, I just don't think it is an opinion. It's just comes over as people who decided they don't like him for whatever reason and just want to stick with that imo. Look at this way, if he left we would really struggle to replace a player of Campbell's ability in this Division. I just fail to understand how people don't see what he brings to the team. He's so obviously difficult to play against. He's not Messi obviously, but every time he doesn't score a chance, or misplaces a pass he gets hammered on here. When he scores a goal he is lucky or he should score more. I don't know what people expect at this level. He's been our most effective player so far this season imo. The reaction to yesterday shows how eager some people are to get on his back.

With all due respect mate I don’t think you have any need to take the moral high ground with the shit you’ve posted over the years regarding transfers🙄 I posed the question as the originator of the thread after what shit Joe Allen got after his ear cupping a few years back. You’ve read accounts from fans at the game who witnessed the abuse he was getting so don’t be so fuckin touchy

I read it as a 'come on raise the noise, lets do this thing together' ear cup and as such no issue.

Very lucky yesterday that the keeper pushed it where he did, not exactly clinically placed with his initial effort.

Very lucky yesterday that the keeper pushed it where he did, not exactly clinically placed with his initial effort. He wasn't lucky at all. He did everything right. He followed in the backpass which turned out to be shit. He took the shot early not allowing the keeper to get set. He hit it hard and low. The keeper didn't 'push' the ball anywhere, Campbell was unlucky it 'hit' him and didn't go straight in under him. But he carried on his run and benefitted from the rebound off the keeper for a tap in. All round top forward play as far as I could see.

I didn't see it as a Super Joe-style cupping.

He has done ok since the break, but needs to work on the aspects of his game that let him down, heading and hold-up play, got lucky with his goal really .
The crowd as it often is these days was flat and moaning at the slightest mistake, no help to the players but when the team is shite it becomes an endless circle downwards until something breaks one way or another .

It didn't bother me when Allen did it neither did it when Campbell did it yesterday.
Keep scoring and he an do what he wants......

Joe Allen, the Welsh midfield wizard ( a trait rarely exhibited in a Stoke shirt ), a player who was so loyal to the club that he stayed for the entire length of time that his overinflated Premiership contract allowed and then immediately left once it expired.. and who was so good other teams were clamouring to buy him all the time he played for us.

Just a quick one re Ty’s performance today. I’ve just exchanged a few messages with a Rotherham player that I’ve come to know and he said Ty was a nightmare to play against. Lightening quick and really strong. I thought his pace caused them problems throughout the game, and it's interesting to have that confirmed by an opponent. I'm not sure that the 'ear cupping' is intended to be a dig at the fans, but probably best to find another celebration to avoid that accusation.

Lightening quick and really strong. He mustn't have been one of the ones who kept taking the ball off him as easily as taking the wimps sweets in the school playground. I like Ty he threatens and nearly always looks like he has a goal in him but there is a lot to get frustrated about in his game.
