It’s a strange one. Thought we were decent in the first half but there’s something definately missing in all parts of the pitch. Hopefully this can be addressed in Jan with 3-4 incomings.
GK - Bonhams been OK but we need better.
Def - Not a fan of 3 CBs but if that’s the route he’s going we need to play a RWB not a striker. If it’s 4 at the back we need a LB.
CM - Is a mess. Baker is really out of form and needs dropping and Thompson isnt quite good enough. I’d be interested to see how Kilkenny does but we’re in desperate need of a Pearson type.
STR - The balance is wrong. I’d like a big man up front who can hold the ball up.
Jan is massive.

Still, at least it wasn’t the consecutive defeats you were forecasting eh? I said if to be clear and let’s be honest the performances don’t indicate any progress. Trying to cover up another dismal prediction, Benjamin?

Unquestionably should have been three wins. We’ve thrown points away against some terrible sides. Doesn’t bode well for the decent ones coming up , indeed to paraphrase the late Bill McLaren ‘there could be dancing in the streets of Hartlepool first weekend in January let alone Burnley and Preston ‘😉 We do have some tough games coming up. Can’t see much coming from Burnley or Sheffield so Preston is a big game. We are far too close to the drop zone for comfort certainly.

We’ve played 3 dreadful teams and turned in little short of absolute dross. The fact we found ourselves behind to such shite says it all. We are horrendous to watch. It’s abject 100%…I was at the Rotherham game yesterday and it was two piss poor teams running around like Sunday morning pub teams. With our current crop of players we are going nowhere anytime soon…down a league is unlikely but not impossible. I’ll be at the Burnley game but I miss the Preston game as I’m driving my daughter back to London…and the fact I’m missing a game doesn’t bother me one iota as I’m totally bored of them now.

I’d fancy us away at sheff United more than I would v Preston at home

I think that I have just come to accept that we are, in truth, a poor team.
Rotherham will be fortunate to finish outside the relegation zone and we stumbled through much of yesterday. If it was not for the poor back pass I am not sure if we would have gotten back into the game.
We are unconvincing, disjointed, and lacking coherency.
However, at least we have started to grind out some points since the break. We are far too close to the relegation zone for comfort and AN must be happy just to get points on the board.
Let's hope for a good transfer window, because I am struggling to stomach the dross we have been served so far this season.

The Burnley game is a big moment. Feel like if we beat Burnley then we can say we've had a good response following the break. Lose it and its been a pretty wank response following the break. Fine margins in the championship between success and failure!! Draw and its been pretty meh..
We're scoring goals which has to be a positive.

The other side of the coin is as follows: A dreadful Cardiff side picked us off at will on the break for a good 45 minutes. We struggled to break down a Bristol City side with no real centre halves in the side. We scrambled to a draw against a woeful side that has only won 1 in 10 games, with both of our goals handed to us on a plate by some ridiculous defending. Yes, 5 points from 9 but the football we are watching at times is absolutely awful IMO and whilst you can appreciate it isn't his team, and it isn't, I'm struggling to see much improvement in our pattern of play outside of an attempt to play quicker and press higher, aswell as individuals. The form of our central midfield overall is a worry outside of a few good performances from Smallbone. Baker especially. I'm desperately clinging onto the hope that the next two transfer windows turn it around for him and us because I honestly can't watch too much more of this.
Maybe I'm being unfair on this manager and maybe it's just everything from the backend of Hughes through to now that has built up, but I'm genuinely at breaking point here.⬆️
