Never got the hype myself, but some rave over him. God only knows why. Man for man, give me 10 Jordan Thompsons who work their nads off over this waste of space who only turns up once a month. Thompson was a fanny today. How many times did they run right through him?

They just run through them all like they weren’t there. Thompson was close enough to players on at least 3 occasions to foul them or heaven forbid win the ball and chickened out of it. We might as well not had a midfield today.

I thought he was the only midfielder who constantly got stuck in and was able to find a player in a Stoke shirt with his passing which is a hell of alot more than Smallbone and Baker achieved.

His passing was ok but he was the second biggest coward after Smallbone. Which isn’t usual for him. For the lack of talent he normally does hack people.

Said it for 18 months. He enjoys embellishing the treatment table more than our league table position. Get rid in close Season.

He did win us a free kick in a dangerous position by feigning he was shoved in the back (he was barely touched). I think Thompson took the free which surely was the smartest idea of all.

Say what you want about his cameo today or about him and his character full stop, but there is a fact you can take to the bank and that fact is we look a far better side with a fit and motivated Powell playing at the top of his game.
That responsibility is on both the player and manager.
Playing him in central midfield got very little out of him under Michael O'Neill and it will get very little out of him under Alex Neil.
We may well get rid of him, and some may celebrate that day but it is an early black mark against this manager for me and a clear indicator of the type of player he will want and tolerate going forwards.
I said it under Tony Pulis and I'll say it now under Alex Neil. I pay my hard earned to watch proper footballers play committed football and not kickers and plodders traipsing around a football pitch impersonating.
Get the footballers we do have in our squad into the team and in their proper positions please Alex. Frankly, it's what you are paid to do.

Thompson is an honest player who was the only midfielder we had today. If he had followed bayern's advice he would have been sent off and we would have lost the game. Instead we got another point towards our survival this season, which could prove vital.

Instead we got another point towards our survival this season, which could prove vital. If he’s an idiot he would have been sent off. If he was played well he would have actually made a tackle. He didn’t.

Almost like he had some time abroad when the rest of the squad were doing a pre season isn’t it!
Oh sorry he was injured….

The question is after a month off why was he on the bench (supposedly needing minutes) in a poor match day squad.
Does that tell it’s own story?

Yes bayern, you are right again. It was all Thompson's fault that we didn't win. Nothing to do with our players looking baffled when Cardiff played one touch football.

Lovely ball into the channel for Tymon and a couple of good recoveries but not much beyond that.
