So the superiority complex thread may have taken a slight deviation, I didn’t intend it but it’s bought out some of the wrestling fans on here, so time to make a thread!
My favourite era will always be the attitude era (as someone looking back because I was too young at the time), and not necessarily for the quality of the wrestling in WWF, but the storylines were gripping and the comedy was at its peak IMO.
One of the all time best moments has to be Austin hitting McMahon with the bed pan.
But post attitude era when Austin turns face and Ric Flair joins, it bought us the shopping experience of a lifetime.

Another great thread! Late 80s early 90s was my era (ultimate warrior British bulldog legion of doom being my fav’s) but started watching a few years ago with the kids and it’s still ace😁 size of some of them is just ridiculous!

The Bret Hart carried a coked out Bulldog to THAT Summerslam match is one of the reasons why he’s still in my top 5 all-time wrestlers. I liked Bulldog, but Bret was special. I’ve always thought that it’s a shame that he wasn’t around in this era of wrestling, which is back to being a lot more family friendly, but doesn’t have huge gimmicks and is stacked with fantastic athletes.

Bret Hart and the Hart Foundation were my favourite WWF wrestlers. Loved Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby The Brain Heenans commentary. Also loved the WCW before it got taken over by the WWE. Gordon Solie commentating. Sting, Sid Vicious, Paul E Dangerously and the SST, the Steiners. Great days.

Which side of 'The War' were you all on, RAW or Nitro? WWF at the time as a kid but both were great. The tribalism a bit weird in hindsight. I'd argue the tribalism is even worse today, but in part that could be due to social media (specifically Twitter).
Not really so much Impact and the indies, but WWE and AEW fans can be bordering on the ridiculous with tribalism sometimes.
To answer TDC's question, given what I've been able to watch retrospectively (cause I was about 3 at the peak/come down of the war around '99), odds are I'd have been a WWF kid as I am now. I love the attitude era, and spent hours on the Smackdown games with my brother having matches.

Yeah I find it even weirder these days, if you like something, why wouldn’t you enjoy the best of both? Odd behaviour.

Not sure where it was but the giant Gonzales fighting the undertaker is on you tube, Jesus Christ that bloke was massive! And in todays wrestling Omos looks even bigger… Used to collect the hasbro figures (don’t know where they ended up and prob worth a few quid as well now🤦🏻♂️) On a side note Becky lynch is a tidy bit of stuff, and always fancied Steph McMahon!

Which side of 'The War' were you all on, RAW or Nitro? RAW for me. Though to be honest I didn’t get to see a lot of it as when I was really into wrestling RAW was on skysports and my parents couldn’t afford Sky. My grandparents had skyone though so I went round every Saturday 11am for SmackDown and there were always Raw recaps. I didn’t know a lot about WCW until I stopped watching it weekly and YouTube became easier to use when internet connections improved. Now, as this is a wrestling thread I’ve got to ask, am I the only one who didn’t rate and can’t stand Ric Flair? He seems to be an absolute legend amongst wrestling fans but I just never got it. He was shite when he came back to WWE and embarrassingly shite these last few years. Always had something of a Jimmy Saville about him too.

I was more Grandstand. Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, Rollerball Rocco, Mick Mcmanus. Can anyone remember Adrian Street. Hard bastard was Adrian Street. Rocco was so good that he was well respected in Japan at a time when Japanese light-heavyweights were so far ahead of everyone else. The fact that NJPW gave him the original Black Tiger role shows how much faith they had in Rocco. The Tiger Mask v Dynamite Kid matches are often heralded as the pinnacle of that era for the weight class., but Tiger Mask v Black Tiger matches aren’t far behind, if at all.

80s and 90s were best. I gave up once it changed from WWF to WWE, or more when triple H left.
However from the 90s I remember a hell of a lot.
Most memorable was the barbershop, Papa Shango doing his curse on the Ultimate warrior and Legion of Doom just bossing the tag team scene.

Think Flair’s 80s stuff is amazing and his promos even in the 90s are tremendous. No denying he’s a sad act these days though. Keep meaning to watch the ESPN 30 for 30 doc on him.
