like many others I have serious reservations about this competitions timing and Venue.
However like it or not I feel that my viewing, or not, will have little or no effect or impact as the decisions have been made and people’s attitudes have been ignored, and so I would like to watch some but not all games
In particular I am obviously interested in the England, Wales and Australia matches.
Having spent some time on Google I easily found that our home nations are easily available on terrestrial TV, but I could not find Australia’s TV listings. I am sure it’s there somewhere.
Who else is or is not watching and what teams are worth watching ?

Got an Argies v Netherlands semi, France v Brazil with Argies to win . Backed them last year at 14-1, best team in it for me. Think Danes, Portugal, Netherlands will go well but not enough to win it. Germany could make a comeback and Spain the real tough one to predict. Should be a great, open tournament. Looking forward to it massively.

I suspect that interest will grow as the competition progress’s particularly if we or Wales do well.
England’s first game early on a Monday whilst many are at work is a little strange.

My employer has allowed everyone to take a holiday if they have any left. Sounds crazy to me but I’ve never been one not to look a gift horse in the mouth😉

I won't be watching a kick. Disappointed that FIFA has allowed them to host the tournament 😕

A little strange!? It’s the beauty of the World Cup where random matches are played at random times. There’s nothing strange about it at all!

The times are pretty much the same as they would be if it was being held here. The next one will be a bit more “weird” especially those on the west coast

I remember watching Ireland v Germany on a Monday afternoon, A Mexico game at 3am. Wasn't Brazil v England about 8-30 am midweek with the David Seaman flap? I don't think you can set it so people are at home/work around the globe when the draw is random and everyone in different time zones

When Robbie Keane scored in injury time place went up ....bit disappointed when realised was just German haters. England v Brazil was in Nantwich also....was a massive queue but GF'S uncle at the time was managing the pub at the time, Union Vaults so no probs, straight in to a few...where's he bloody going etc . Was really flat crowd as so early.

Totally understand what you are all saying and have watched more than my share of games at all sorts of hours.
More often than not it has involved teams or venues in different hemispheres or on the other side of the Atlantic or even further .
However Iran is GMT + 3:300hrs so I still think it is a little strange.
It’s no big deal so please don’t fret about it. I am in Staffordshire not a Mid Pacific Island.

Some of the games are at unusual times because when usually there's usually 3 games in a day this time there's 4. They've had to cram an extra one in because of the timing of the tournament.

I had no idea England were playing on Monday and am scheduled to work from home which is annoying as it makes avoiding it more difficult.

Yeah...I'm...probably not going to catch many of those matches in the 4 a.m. time-slot. But, that 1 p.m. one on Monday and Tuesday. only problem being I'm in same boat as Bayern, working from home trying to avoid it. Australia goes at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Alright fine, I'm taking a late lunch dammit.

Its the World Cup. I can't wait for it to start and don't give a fuck which country it's being held in.
See it for what it is... The biggest and best football tournament in the World.

What are peoples thoughts on todays game then? Can’t say I know much about either team tbh, might chuck a tenner on Qatar though🤔Il be setting aside all the crap that goes with it and just enjoy the footy, there’s enough misery in the news as it is🙄

I'll miss numerous games including England tomorrow so that's a shame but I'll try and watch England if I can other than that I'm not sure I'll bother.

I don't give a flying fuck what the people of Qatar get up to in their own country, it has fuck all bearing on mine or my families lives. The World Cup is about to start and its a real bonus that its happening now as I can forget all about how wank Stoke are for a few weeks and enjoy watching some stress free footy (apart from England obviously) 😉

I will sit with a stoney face and a growing sense or moral indignation through every game I can! 😁
I'm as excited as at the start of a new season! It's the World Cup! Brazil, Germany, France, Argentina, etc!
Obviously by the second week I'll be moaning with the best of them about the cheating, feigning injury players. But for now I think the footballs going to be great!

Just not arsed. Shouldn't be in winter and shouldn't be in Qatar. Does also run alongside my ever decreasing interest in the England team, despite doing well in the last 2 tournaments.
Suspect things might change when it actually starts but really... just can't be bothered.

The friendly games vs Mexico and Algeria (both victories) however, made me think we'll be back - and hopefully in the Euro 2024 in Germany. I will support and bet on the team/s where a Stoke player appears. Is it only Australia's Souttar? Australia to win the World Cup 2022 gives 500 times the stake. So 20 SEK on them would give 10.000 SEK here. Not bad! I will also follow former Stoke players, like Shaqiri, Joe Allen and Choupo-Moting. Missed someone? 🤔 But I have no idea who will win the World Cup 2022, England perhaps?
