Really not sure mate.
Its just so slow with the police. I have got an IP address from the person who hacked in my hotmail account, but it could take the police months to track it down.
The annoying thing is, I have got a background in computers and know what the police need to do, but its just soooo slow

Send the twat a keylogger and have it back along with whatever online banking password he's using to keep the money in and have his money too!
Twats they are, probably them Nigerian ones i've seen them alot! Trying to sell a new phone and got a winning bid of 3 grand followed by forged eBay emails saying send the phone to an address in Nigeria or my account will be banned ;D

Odds are you were keylogged, because if hotmail uses 128 bit encryption since the live update, it takes approximately a month for 500 computers to crack 128 bit encryption on any respectable sort of password (microsoft set up a challenge for it which we look at during my programming class). I imagine e-bay uses the same, if not a higher level of encryption.
Odds are you either clicked a link in your e-mails that was dodgy and put in your password & username and they got it, or you've been keylogged in which case the moment you log onto paypal they get those details and if you bank online they get them too.

Santy surely for him to be keylogged he would've had to click an attatchment download for it to have got onto his computer? I've been told you can get a keylogger from just going to a link to a picture on the internet i.e. Imageshack.us/whatever.jpg and it will invisibly install the keylogger then.
They're surprisingly easy to make thanks to youtube but the hard part is sending them out

Looks like ebay are taking it seriously too, just received this message:
We'd like to let you know about some new steps we're taking to help prevent fraudulent unauthorised activity on eBay accounts.
Later this summer, we'll begin checking the computer you use to list an item to see whether it's one of the computers you regularly use. If you list an item using a different computer (e.g. at a friend's house, in a hotel, at the library), we'll ask you to confirm that it's really you listing the item.
Confirming your identity is easy. We'll make an automated call to one of the phone numbers on your account - you can choose which one. If you can't receive a call at one of those numbers, you'll be able to add another number by answering your secret question, or verify your identity with us in Live Chat.
Please take a minute to update your contact information.
You should always keep the telephone number on your account up to date so that eBay and your trading partners can get in touch with you. If you have a mobile phone, we strongly encourage you to add this as a secondary phone number so that you can confirm your identity when you're away from one of your usual computers.

AVG 8.0 is available as a free download. Search carefully on the AVG pages to find the relevant link. I've got it working on my PC. Sorry I haven't got a link

Although yea, every man and his dog can use a keylogger these days.

Yeah mate i know what you mean, i'm by no means a computer whizz but with a little help from youtube i made a fully working one which i sent my mate for a laugh, got his msn passwords in seconds and really made me realise their danger with online banking etc. You really do have to avoid .exe's unless its from a well known website; and always check the site at the top even if it may look genuine sites can be reproduced

I had someone asking questions about products through my ebay account but they didn't buy anything which I thought was quite strange. Ebay were pretty good to me.
