I think some of the teams in div1 & 2 might be worse than us although we would find a way to lose to them I'm sure.

I would say I have seen very few teams who are better than us this season, perhaps Middlesborough are the only team I've seen at Stoke. As a team we can be as good as anyone. Our problem is individual players who make mistakes be it giving the ball away, missing an easy chance, losing their player at a corner, not competing properly for a ball they should win or at least make difficult for the opposition to win and most of all having no confidence in their ability to pull a goal back once they concede. If we take the lead we hold on to it and play as well as anyone. I have said before a sport psychologist is what they need more than any coach. The ability is there the mental attitude is weak. 100% this…..

Ben Pearson would transform this team.

Pretty accurate so far! Just Hull who seem to have found some form/ability from somewhere to drag themselves out of trouble.
Didn't think Cardiff would be doing as badly as they are either, but they'll be OK in the end.
It'll be 3 from Rotherham, Wigan, Blackpool, Huddersfield. We've not looked as bad as any of those sides when we've played them.

Huddersfield are probably the worst side I’ve seen since we got relegated. I thought they were marginally less crap than Reading, who have probably fluked enough points early on in the season to avoid the relegation dogfight their shitness surely deserves.

Stevenage were better than those useless wankers from Huddersfield tonight. And we think we’ve got it bad. Definite League One members next year unless Warnock somehow manages to find something in there. They just looked diabolical all over.
If we can win on Saturday, we could easily push towards the top half, and hopefully a little bit higher. Nobody in this league is any good, other than Burnley.

I missed the reading game unfortunately. But either way, they were utter garbage tonight.. made me feel a lot better about us, even though we are not anywhere near where we should be.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't finish above the 5 we're currently ahead of - plus Birmingham, QPR, Reading and Preston.
But don't want to get too greedy.

3 points were massive for us last night, 3 points against Blackpool will be even bigger!!! 👍🏼
Huddersfield were poor last night, but with Warnock coming in now, I'd imagine he'll fire them up enough to just scrape out of the bottom 3 come May... By any means necessary if I know Warnock!!!

By any means necessary if I know Warnock!!! Colin is 74 now and had to be coaxed out of retirement because either Huddersfield are completely out of ideas or everyone else they approached told them to fuck off. They’re truly, truly rancid and I think they’re absolute certainties to finish rock bottom even with Mr Wanker esq. at the helm.

Let’s not kid ourselves, when we click we look half decent, but we are consistently inconsistent and when we are poor we look like a team of no marks who’ve never trained together before.

QPR look interestingly priced after a run that extends even further to 1 win ( and 9 points) from 16 games

This is us all over. If we lose to Blackpool we’re down again! 🤣
The best thing about last night is that there are foundations laid for a solid side. Pearson looks to be good for us. We played ok and did the basics right which we haven’t done for years. I think we could at least have some idea what we are trying to do which we haven’t seen under any of the managers we’ve had since relegation.
I think we have enough in the team to avoid the drop, whether we can remains to be seen but I’m more confident about us now than I have been for years under AN and if we can avoid the drop we might be able to push on / further consolidate next season when the financial hand cuffs will be removed.

At the moment, nearly every team in the division is worse than us. What a turnaround. I came here expecting to see a request for the thread title to be changed to "Which teams in the Championship are better than Stoke?" Watching them playing Blackburn and Middlesbrough I kept thinking why have they not got a chance of at least the playoffs. Middlesbrough were the only team I'd seen even before our turn around that I thought had been better than us and despite their upturn under Carrick we were better on Tuesday.

I thought Middlesbrough looked a good team when we played them at home. They were on a poor run but their turnaround has been no surprise to me. Time will tell if Carrick is a good manager or just benefitting from inheriting a decent squad.
