Perhaps time to bring the red backs back… Almost 12 years to the day, with poppies thrown in for good measure. The truth is we just don’t have the same characters these days.. Blues and Cov always seem to get something from us. Tell that to this guy….

So what was the excuse for the Rotherham and Coventry games? Because O'Neill was adamant that wing-backs were the way forward, thus trying to bring the players in for it, leaving no scape for other formations!!! Trouble was with O'Neill, 95% of his signings were/are shit!!! 1: O'Neill wasn't in charge for those games 2: we played 4 at the back in both

7 wins, 6 draws and 13 losses from the last 26 home league games since Oct '21 It's shambolic. By far the worst home record in the division over the period. Don't know whether I can arsed to go on Tuesday to lose half your home games is pathetic. Of course apparently it’s the fans fault. Get a fucking grip Stoke. And that includes you Coates

From the match thread: Blues must love playing us. Doesn't matter how well we're playing or how bad they are, we rarely win. Last 19 games: Won 3 (technically 2, since one was in the League Cup at their place where, to bring back nightmares for those like me who were there, we conceded two goals in the last five mins for a 3-3 draw in normal time, then a last minute equaliser in extra time, before somehow winning the shootout, it's like we're not actually allowed to beat them!) Drawn 5 Lost 11 Awful record Home record nearly as bad as the record against Brum! We nearly messed this one up too… news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9163117.stmOur record against such a mediocre club is appalling- we've probably got a better record against Villa or Everton than them!

Don't know whether I can arsed to go on Tuesday ..and some people keep wondering where the 'bearpit' atmosphere has gone? I'm surprised as many keep summoning up the enthusiasm to turn up at all.. the players generally don't, that's for sure! The players best pull their fucking socks up as times are hard financially and it's an increasingly stark reality out there with people being faced with making very difficult spending choices.

Maybe they should issue every home fan with a brass lantern. Then everyone can spend the game frantically rubbing* it in the hope it's a magic lantern which will cause a genie to appear and grant us a home win. *obviously it would be important to not hold the lantern in ones lap whilst performing the 'ritual'

The reason we lose a lot of home games and are near the bottom, is because we ain't very good, its that simple.

On the way out yesterday, it seemed like 6 years of dross.
It actually spans 8 seasons…. Spring 2016 was just after we made our record signing.

It's depressing enough as in its present state without thinking about the impact further down the line.
You try and get a kid off they're ipad or computer in the modern world, it's hard enough without telling them they're being dragged down there again where there is absolutely nothing to do and the football is shit.
Football will naturally change to more (legal) streaming etc but we're doing our best to ensure anyone between 5 and 13 never wants to stop foot in the shit hole again. Bravo.

That is a shocking stat. It stats like that, that make or break a fans tolerance to come and watch the fayre on offer.

I'm surprised anyone bothers.
We've probably lost a generation of fans through prolonged awfulness over 6-7 years.
Just totally inept from top to bottom.
I see no benefits in having the current owners. They're not allowed to spend money now and just make bad strategic decisions, from the way the ground is built to how we build a squad

Combine this with our record of winning from behind (4 in 80+ games since relegation I think?), no last minute winner since the Xmas before COVID and our record in London going back years, and you can see why people are fed up. Still, it's the fans' fault apparently.....

Wonder what our overall win percentage is at the Brit/Bet 365
The Bearpit years aside, we always seem to have been a bit of a soft touch at home.

We lack the creativity, pace or nous to break down teams who defend in depth. This would be bad enough but we are very prone to basic errors at the back, another two yesterday. As has been said elsewhere all teams have to do is defend deep and wait for us to gift a goal.

As has been said elsewhere all teams have to do is defend deep and wait for us to gift a goal. We've had the problems with creativity and movement for a long time. The newer more troubling issues are at the back. Have 2 big problems is dragging us down fast.
