Not sure if this is the correct side of the board or EE
What could happen to it as Coventry City sold it to Wasps RFC and rented it from them with all the outside signage etc changed but they’ve now gone into administration with a winding up order which ultimately puts the stadium at a huge risk
Coventry City ground sharing again?

Not had the best of luck with stadium issues over the years have they Coventry City..
Playing fixture catch up this season due to state of their pitch at start of season certainly isn't helping their cause..
The future of the Ricoh must be under real threat right now as their sharing buddies are in such financial difficulty. From a club point of view, it's a shame Cov can't muster the finances to own the stadium out right to put the whole ground threats to bed.
Bet they wish they'd just remained at Highfield Road now.

Should have stayed at Highfield Road.
An all-seater stadium decades before they became the law!

Should have stayed at Highfield Road. An all-seater stadium decades before they became the law! It was just in the wrong location for being a modernised stadium, nowhere to park nearby, also was showing it's age a bit and couldn't be expanded. Ideal for being near the city centre though.

Did it need expanding? I don’t share the sympathy for this club. No stadium they have ever occupied needed expanding (well not to house the fans anyway). Should have been relegated years before the great day when it happened. And some on here think our owners haven’t done a good job! Take a look at the idiots managing affairs at Cov. They will probably be back at Sixfields in Northampton next season, which will hopefully be in League 1.

Did it need expanding? It was only just over 20,000 I think, so probably, it was quite packed in with houses if I remember correctly, hardly any parking and nothing much in the way of modern corporate areas for bringing in extra revenue.

I personally (even before Wasps current demise) would have liked see Coventry promoted to the premier league for 1 season, buy the ground back, then send Wasps packing back to fucking London. No wonder they are in a financial state with decisions like that, moving them out of London from where they were based for 90 odd years? How was that allowed to happen anyway? Madness for Coventry FC and Wasps!

I think Pittodrie was the first in the UK followed by Coventry in England . Was a bit like the same prob we had with the Victoria Ground at Highfield Rd re development

Coventry was done on the cheap ..and I really do mean cheap and nasty , seats were just put onto the existing terraces.. including from memory only using about a 1/3rd of the open end
it lasted about 4 years

Ashley is after the property on the cheap . As freeholders Coventry council/government should take it in lieu of the £2m tax arrears , and no doubt some development grants when it opened , rent it to Coventry at a fair rate until we get all that money back from new long leaseholders. Its another terrible mess with a history of dodgy hedge fund ownership in CFC ,and wasps promising bondholders 13% a yr for investors.

I was at Stranraer once and all 11 fans were sat down if that counts. Pittodrie of course literally means pile of shit in English....I think dung heap the correct translation but not too nice either way.

A bit like our ground re good access to the motorway - not a lot of parking within walking distance Hardly anywhere to park near to Highfield road and the railway station is on the other side of the city centre 🤔 Less and less places to park in and around the Bet 365 No easy answer- possibly more efficient park and ride options

Manor ground Oxford was almost 3 miles County ground Northampton 2 miles Layer road colchester 2 miles Highfield road Coventry 1.6 miles Then you move and its further away.

Don't think they did to be honest, but it was quite clearly a football stadium for Coventry City. Still pisses me off that a rugby club would move move to Coventry from London because it was an easy fix for them. It's clearly not good for their (wasps) fans and put the football club in a useless position. I've changed my opinion since my first post. I hope they get to the Prem for a few seasons, then a build a new stadium and leave the current one to rot on their greedy owners. Think were looking at building a new 20,000 seater with Coventry University not long back.
