Tried so hard not to get carried away but sod it.
We now have:
Preston (A) they only have one home win in seven and have scored 2 goals in the process. Play midweek when we don't.
Rotherham (H) no wins in five away games and only 1 goal
Coventry (H) bottom of the table and no wins in seven away games, letting in 12 goals. Play Weds midweek when we play Tues.
So do we think the spark of hope from Saturday will ignite a fire and power us on to 9 points from the next 3? I would very much take 7, we'll probably do a Stoke and get 3-4.

Important to dominate and win comfortably against the lower teams We thrive on being underdogs We shouldn’t lose any of our next 3 games

Championship just doesn't work this way Next 3 games just as hard as last 3

PNE scored 4 goals in their first 12 matches and then went and scored 3 away at Norwich yesterday, so nothing will be guaranteed against them. We can't ignore the fact that they got their first home win of the season last week (vs WBA) too, so they'll be hoping to build on that momentum. Tough game.

We mustn't get carried away and we do so at our peril.
9 points.

Championship just doesn't work this way Next 3 games just as hard as last 3 I know what you mean but teams can and do go on good runs. Villa managed 10 straight wins under Smith Why can't it be us for once! Under Rowett we managed 10 in a row unbeaten - but mostly draws of course. Jones then got 9 unbeaten but 7 draws. O'Neill notched up 3 wins and a draw in the last 4 of 19-20 and 5 unbeaten a couple of times the next season (best being 3 wins 2 draws). Last season he hit the giddy heights of 3 straight wins v. Blackpool, Luton and Peterborough, all similar calibre teams to the three opponents we face now. OBVIOUSLY we won't win them (I'm a dickhead for thinking we might after one good game) and set a new record of 4 in a row for our current sojourn, but imagine if we did PS In the Pulis promotion year we were quite streaky. A whole 12 in a row unbeaten W6 D6 and the best winning run was 5 (which we'd also done in the previous season), but 4 of them were at home.

I get carried away with the best of us. Usually on the down side. I had us to be relegated at HT on Wednesday. I think what the last 2 games has taught me is anything can happen, so I’m going to try and be less reactionary. It was funny though listening to P&G on the way home yesterday. You’d think we were going to win the league the way people were talking.

Been so many false dawns over the last 3 seasons where we've looked really good against a decent side, then followed it up with an absolute shitshow against a side we should be beating.
Having said that, if AN keeps the system the same as Saturday and we start getting one or two players back, we should be nearer the top of the league than the bottom before long.

It’s Stoke.
We’ll beat Preston, draw against Rotherham and lose to Coventry.

I don’t think we will be anywhere near our potential until after the World Cup break. Until then, I’m happy to just stay in touch with the leading pack.

The thing that made me sit up most about the Sheff U game was Fosu. What a stellar performance. Always in space, hit the bar, two shots saved, got an assist, and a goal line clearance. If he can start in that position next few games you'd expect goals to follow.
But of course we know it's Stoke and he'll either get injured or turn shit again.
It's the hope that kills you!

Preston and Rotherham, traditionally 2 of our biggest boggy sides aren't they? for some strange reason I don't associate us with beating them very often.

If we do want to do something then at least 6 points is needed. Rotherham and Coventry should be two the easier home games. Can’t be dropping points against teams like that. Preston will be tricky.

I’d take a point against Preston.
We were excellent on Saturday, but we were up against a depleted outfit.
Saturday will probably be much harder than the weekend.
Keep the same setup, quality and effort and we should get something though.
4 points from the next two games would be great.

Both us and Preston 8 points from the last 5.
Will be a tight affair.
1-0 either way I’d say.
