seems to be the future after all. Hope we stick with it. It’s not that simple. Watch AN’s post match interview. He changed formations several times throughout the match and, because the players were flexible and implemented the tactics they discussed beforehand, that’s why we got the three points. His tactical flexibility, having plan A,B and C worked out before the match and responding accordingly depending on how the game goes, is what impresses me most about him. It’s light years from MON just sticking with Plan A all game and not changing anything when it isn’t working!

He changed throughout the game but kept a 4 at the back. Last week against Watford we were ripped apart in wide areas because the wing backs were caught out of position time after time. He kept things solid at the back today with a 4 and tweeked thinks in front.

I missed the beginning and can’t work it out at all. Was it just Pej talking nonsense?

At least out of possession, I'm sure I noticed us with a bank of 5 by that point when they came at us.

Yes he did, because Wilmot had been the left Centre Back but when we went to a 5 he dropped Fox in and Wilmot swapped to the right so that Jagielka could be the middle of the 3. I don't even massively mind using a back 5 when the game warrants and we actually have wing backs to use. Sterling and Tymon when fit would be fine. However, I much prefer the 4 and you could see for the majority of that game yesterday, we were excellent in that 4-3-3. Fosu was unplayable.

He did say that Sterling and Fosu swapped early in the first half rather than we set up with sterling at right back. Before that he was saying that we played 5 at the back and other things which I don't remember now. He seemed to think that AN was a genius swapping them in the 1st half.
