Baker is still his only good signing so far.
Wilmot I think will get there.
Thompson was good tonight though. Get him off corners though.

Thompson is a good player, and I've always said it, he's a clever player who can pick out passes!!! He may only be limited to a championship player, but he's a decent championship player!!!

Sorry but he cant cope when the game is too fast. Hull didnt press us on the ball at all.
Played well tonight for sure, but if he is playing all season for us we are not a promotion team.
God I hate these random threads that pop up when a player has one good game. Did u see him against Reading?

If you want to have a team where Baker isn’t sitting back all game, then Thompson is an important player for the club. He defends well and can at least pass sideways (and sometimes does pull of some decent forwards passes). Rotating him with Laurent will help us a lot.

No, he's not good enough for a regular spot and should only be used when all other options are unavailable.
He had a decent game tonight bar his corners.

Decent player, solid and like a tackle. I like him working in the middle. I'd have him for cover any week and when we especially need bite.

Thompson is an excellent young player and is offering exactly what we have been missing in the middle of the park. Combative, energetic, agressive and can pick a pass. What's not to like?

Thompson is an excellent young player and is offering exactly what we have been missing in the middle of the park. Combative, energetic, agressive and can pick a pass. What's not to like? Jordan has never been given the opportunity to thrive in the middle of the park, as we previously had Joe more often than not in that position. But give him centre stage and it allows him to display his tackling and passing capabilities, as well as just doing the simple things very well. To be honest, I think he's a better passer than Laurent. I was really impressed with him last night and he fully deserves to start our next game. More games like that, and he could well turn out to be the answer to our CDM dilemma!

Given we would probably have been relegated without his contribution I would say Jacob Brown has a considerably greater claim to this title compared to Thompson’s fleeting efforts for the cause.

The ball he played down the channel for Brown early doors was sexual.

He’s an average championship player, he’ll have good games, he’ll have poor games.
However for me it’s a prime example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. We just seem to be a better outfit when he’s in the team, just gives us balance & energy.

He needs to be playing football regularly, doesn't he? He's 26 in January and has been a bit-part player since he joined us.
He's a solid enough player at this level and gives his all, and I think with a good run of games, he'd be a real asset to any Champ team. He could quite easily nail down that No. 6 position if he puts in performances like he did last night.

Brown is O'Neill second best signing Thompson is a good squad player, good value Brown is the best for me, but Baker looks most like changing that. Other O'Neill signings could turn out to be very important too.

The main reason our midfield looked better against Hull was because Clueless wasn't part of it. IMHO he is right up there with the biggest wastes of money transfer fees we have made over the last 6 years. Thompson to his credit cost peanuts and does always put in a shift albeit on a lot of occasions without much impact but you can't fault his effort and commitment.

Thompson is an OK squad player. I'll be quite relieved when he doesn't look like the most obvious choice at DM.

Amazingly average. He’s ok, corners terrible, passing not great. We need better. But not the worst I’ve seen at Stoke

He's a good squad player and never lets us down with his commitment but when everyone's fit he shouldn't start.
