It's what she would have wanted....... Nothing like respecting someone's death than to let the vulnerable go hungry.

And given notice of the closure so people can plan ahead and go a day or so early, is that too hard for some people to do ?

I’m sure they’ll be blaming her for the theft of Shergar and aiding and abetting Lord Lucan next.

Yet again this thread brings out the racists and the Tories. Spot them a mile off. I know that you like to throw the “racist” word around quite a lot in respect to people who may be royalists or have an opposing view to your good self but it’s a pretty offensive word to use to describe someone. Off hand can you give some examples of racism?

I do agree, I am deeply saddened by the loss of HM, but we are now on Day 5 of this utter dross getting piped in to our houses 7 x 24 like elevator music without, never mind a dissenting view, not even a raised eyebrow allowed anywhere near the studio. It's not hard to see how Russia TV have the populace believe Putin is a great guy or ditto China Television in respect of Xi Jinping. You just confront the populace with unremitting, unrelenting claptrap and eventually folks are just broken. I'm not saying the Queen is like either Putin or Xi I think she was a force for good but honestly to beat folks around the head in this way 7 x 24 is just ridiculous, its insulting. I mean the whole point of being in the free world is you don't get this kind of official line rammed down your throat. The Queen is dead, long live the King, forget any intelligent discourse! I've turned the radio off before I have to start listening to stories from anyone who's ever owned a frigging corgi. If you’re interested Ely I’ve heard there’s a few going in the SW1A area at the moment.

On what grounds can they get away with this, these sort of arrests are surely way outside of the remit of the new laws introduced earlier in the year?
I can't imagine that any of the arrests will result in a conviction but nevertheless, it is highly worrying that the police are now taking individuals off the streets for expressing an opinion.

I'm not even sure where the thought of Liverpool fans booing a minutes silence in honour of the Queen is coming from to be fair, I just don't see it happening? (let's see I guess) Booing a national anthem and the death of an individual are two completely different things........

To be fair there's a whole thread on RAWK discussing it, so the fans themselves clearly think it's a reasonable possibility, some are saying it's inevitable. And LFC wouldn't be rolling out (so far) Klopp, Dalglish, the Hillsborough Committee and Souness, all with the same message on keeping quiet, if they weren't worried about it.

On the back of a leaked story about Liverpool and Celtic fans being the reason football was cancelled last weekend I might add. The media have definitely whipped it up, I get the nervousness I just don't think it will happen. And if a handful of people do then it's still not a reason to beat up the other 99.9%, as I said we shall see I guess.........

Don't really think anybody is being beaten up by it, rather, that LFC clearly see it as a genuine worry. Hopefully anybody considering not respecting it, will have taken onboard the comments from Dalglish and the others.

It would be a shame if they did especially given that Prince Charles went out of his way in 1981 to support Toxteth in the aftermath of the riots. No politicians turned up but he did. He has been a frequent repeat visitor since and the Princes Trust and his other charitable acts have kept their promise and continued working in the city. If they want to boo the same blokes dead mother it only shows them in a bad light and supports what some already think.

I just don't get it. The monarchy and establishment in this country are more than strong enough and engrained in the fabric of our society to withstand some dissent. They literally have everything in their favour. Quite what the country gains from people acting like automatons and clapping seals whenever it comes to these people (and getting arrested when they don’t) is anyone’s guess.
Dissent and difference of opinion, even at times like these, are the signs of a strong and thriving democracy. If the past few days have shown us anything it is that we are certainly not that.

Maybe the club thought that his tweet was a threat. Either way banning someone for a twitter post is ridiculous but unfortunately it happens all the time. Many a time people have lost their jobs and been 'cancelled' for voicing an opinion.
