I think we should avoid both of them. So if given the option of a small midfielder with good stats and a proven track record you would go for a bigger one as a point of principle? I get the need for a decent sized goalkeeper, centre backs and an old school centre forward but it's never been the case that size is that important in the midfield - in fact some if the best over the years have been quite small. Xavi wasn't massive was he

Who is going to buy Clucas? Excellent solution but improbable. Sorry, Smallbone and Kilkenny should both leave today. Yeah cause sending 2 loan players back a month after signing them would be great for our prospects of getting future players in on loan, wouldn’t it. Plus Smallbone changed the game yesterday when he came on along with Fosu, and should be starting every game at least until Powell is back. I think a midfielder like Smallbone is a luxury in that formation and to an extent Powell but I think you can shoehorn him in better because he's more physical.

Xavi wasn't massive was he Same height as Iniesta. Both seem to avoid the answer that it's a prefference. Are they not allowed?

Change of manager is a good reason to discuss cancellation of a loan especially as one of the clubs have just relieved their manager of his duties. We need to trim our squad size again if two are coming in on loan. What better way than removing two loanees who aren’t what we need.

I don't think you can cancel loans in the same window unless all parties involved agree.
I like all of our loans too each adds something so not sure who you'd leave out. How long does Fosu have left on his contract.. Perhaps a cheeky we take over his contract..

Don't see why we need to cancel any of the loans. Over the course of the season all of those players will have a contribution to make.

With Clarke’s injury we need another right-back and it’s not like we can pay a fee for a decent one so the loan of Sterling makes sense really. Makes a complete mockery of the decision to give Duhaney another contract though. Doesn’t that depend on the length of Clarke’s injury? Do we need a season-long loan if he is out for 2-3 weeks? Clarke could always get injured again though and we’d be left short again. A short term loan for Sterling would mean we’d still be in the market for a right back in January. At this point a season-long loan makes sense to me. Sterling and Clarke will provide solid competition for each other when they’re both fit and possibly even play on the opposite side if needed due to injuries/suspensions.

If you play a back 4 and allow the FB's to bomb on the CM's need to be able to help the CB's out quite a lot. I'd think height/physicality was quite handy. Maybe think a little before you dismiss someones opinion.

Neil's interview seemed to suggest we might kick the can down the road a little and sort it out sometime before the end of the season.

Ah, James McCarthy from Celtic, I'd thought we'd already signed Max from Congleton Town.

It’s obvious.
The Oatcakes.
Ange can ask at the first presser but I’m going for the bland “cheese and bacon” answer.
