Do electric cyclists ignore road rules like the other cyclists do?

Me and the Mrs have Oxgen S-Cross hybrid E-bikes. Did lots of research and these came out as best value because they have 24 speed Shimano gear sets and hydraulic brakes. Most hybrid e-bikes have max 8 speed. With legal max 250W rear wheel motors and 70 mile battery range they were easily best value at just under £1600 last year. Oxygen are based somewhere in South Yorkshire. They are very good trail/road bikes but if you’re looking for MTB then I believe pedal crank motor are better as they give more torque but expect to pay over £2k for one. I’ve done just under 600 miles on mine with no issues. The Mrs had a problem initially with front derailleur but the company sent a new one down next day delivery and it took me 30 minutes to swap and set up. She’s done about 400 miles since with no further issues. Just a little bit of riding advice…if you have been a regular cyclist you will find on ebikes things happen a lot quicker so be well prepared and also get a decent bell so you can give pedestrians ample warning on shared paths. The standard "ting" bells are useless and I’ve got a ding-dong Avon calling type bell and many people have thanked me for it. www.oxygenbicycles.com/contact-us/

winter coming and dark nights , i'd have thought it was more of a summer decision thing myself having previously had a motor bike and always having to be prepared/dressed for hail rain or shine ?

I was going to buy a fixie ‘til my wife pointed out (a) I’d look like a cunt and (b) I wouldn’t be able to fix a child seat onto it. Not sure but they may not be road legal as Dutch style bikes aren't I think?? Something about needing front and rear brakes?? I just remember that incident a few years back when a chap on one hit a pedestrian who walked into the road in London??
