Early signs suggest it’s a poor division this year.
Nobody looks head and shoulders above the rest like Fulham.
All sides look beatable.
Given Neil’s record for quickly transforming sides it looks like a good opportunity for us.
But it is Stoke….

And Bournemouth seemed to have the measure of most teams. Which is a worry considering the way they are struggling now!

There is no standout team this season but it’s as competitive as ever week in week out and always will be

The Championship is never any different. It may seem a poor standard, but it's competitive and still probably one of the top 10 leagues in the world.

Makes a huge difference between say 6 th and top 2. The amount of times Norwich were second best in games then Pukki popped up , say

The Championship is never any different. It may seem a poor standard, but it's competitive and still probably one of the top 10 leagues in the world. I love it and I hate it. The quality is poor but virtually every team thinks they can get promoted at the start which is exactly how it should be. If you could mix that with the quality of the Prem it would be magic.

A pale imitation of the Premier league that it so desperately longs to be.

As it ever been anything but?
One or two big name teams don't make it a high quality division and there doesn't seem to be any team that is hopelessly doomed for relegation either.
It all depends what you measure it by though. Compared the Northern Counties League it seems pretty good, compared to the Prem or La Liga its a bit ropey to say the least.

probably the strongest second division in the world. It's a tough division, as we've shown it to be for the majority of the time we've been in it.

Notwithstanding the quality of the competition, The Championship is a very difficult and highly competitive league. Given our squad, a new manager bounce, one or two additions and a reasonably free injury free run there’s no reason at all why we can’t be challenging next spring.

Whatever the quality and however you judge it, its a bit more competitive than Scottish Premiership and English Premier League going on results from this weekend.

Exactly why MON’s “we’ll never be top two” attitude was just not acceptable. Almost every team in this division should be realistically aiming for promotion, and good, motivated coaches make it happen all the time with mediocre teams.

Very competitive it’s a good league But only competitive in that “anyone can beat anyone”. It doesn’t matter that it’s essentially two limited teams trying to play a style of football that they aren’t capable of, conceding goals mostly through cock ups than the skill of the opposition. It would only be good if that competitiveness equates to two teams always going all guns blazing at each other. The Championship is just a war of attrition.
