All of a sudden the only sound I get from my fan in the kitchen above the stove is the clock, the clicking sound from the timer.
No ventilation sound at all.
It will take weeks before the service get here, I think, during the Covid-19 pandemic - where nowadays it's even more difficult to get an appointment to any doctor, at the Health Clinic we have to speak with them in the staircase, can't get in. Never had that sort of precautions before.
The kitchen fan is a Franke 251-10 model if it sounds familiar. What can be wrong?

I'm confused. Is the fan on a timer switch or is there a clock inside blocking the fan?

There isn't anything wrong, once you leave the kitchen, it will start making the ventilation sound ... everything is cool.

Can you post a picture of it? It's a non-existing sound.

I'm confused. Is the fan on a timer switch or is there a clock inside blocking the fan? I live in an appartment with the central ventilation system on the roof 10 meters above me. In each appartment we have a Franke 251-10 fan installed to the ventilation canal. When you switch it on the fan and timer should sound simltaneously. But it's just the timer built inside the fan. No sound from the actual fan doing what it's supposed to do. Besides, it gets awfully hot! Something must be blocking it. No function whatsoever.

It's a non-existing sound. An audio clip then? Imagine silence. I don't know how to post anything on this.

The manual says Check the plug fuse. I better call the service team. They could replace my unfunctioning oven and check the pipes while they're at it perhaps some day next month ...

Funny fact: I've checked online, lots of forums and threads now. Everyone is complaining about having a noisy kitchen fan, even when it's switched off.
Not one with a quiet fan.

Perhaps you've gone deaf? No I can still hear the timer. Could be a bomb. I suggest you go down the pub all day and wait till your house appears on the tea time news.

Searched further about fans in general. Could be a greasy fan wheel. But I don't think there is one, central ventilation on the roof. Could be a greasy filter. I will order a new one asap and make a test, even if I've cleaned the existing one. Not much greasy fat above the filter either when I just checked. Could be a broken lightweight pipe. I don't think so. I don't know if ours is very sensitive though.
Do a test. Hold a piece of paper below the fan. Switch it on. The paper should stay. On some fans even when it's off. Mine: Not a chance.

Could be an electric problem perhaps, since my oven beneath is not functioning either, just smoke, and the stove gets red when turned on.
Maybe the service team can do a new search in Dresden at the small abandoned factory again for another spare part, since it's only 38 years old.

Or on something anyway

Is there a stove/range hood light as well? Does that work? If not, that light would probably be on the same circuit as the fan which would point to a power issue -- a breaker or fuse. Otherwise, you probably got a s**t ton of grease and crap stopping up the fan and you just need to clean it out. Most likely, you've got both problems. Just remove the fuse or make sure the breaker is off and then go get your hands dirty. I can understand if you are hesitant with the power side of this, but once you can do things like this, your confidence will drastically improve. Then again, my brother has trouble with a screwdriver, so I need to remember to not judge people's comfort zones, so forgive. It's not like I'd be willing to perform surgery on someone where others would have no issues.

Replacing the fuse is something for the service team, that's what the landlord pays them for.

So there may be a delay Musik. I was stuck in it myself earlier for around 3 minutes.
