With all this horseshit MON spouts after every game, he reminds me of the mayor of Amity island in Jaws. When asked if he was going to close the beaches, he just buried his head in the sand and said everything will be ok. Just substitute shark attack for relegation and there you have it. Strange comparison I know, but it works for me. The gravity alligator is biting and the shark of relegation is staring us in the Jaws.

Seems like he's putting all his eggs in the Tymon, Souttar, Powell (and to a lesser extent) Laurant, getting fit basket (which I guess we all are really), even though there's nothing to suggest they'll be our saviours...... But until then, we'll have to put up with the dross football and losing!!! Also a huge gamble are some of them are weeks away from fitness we are told.. We could be cut adrift by that point.. Also begs another question about who exactly does cover these saviours of our team given their injury record? MON digs himself a bigger hole each time he speaks!!

Beneath all of that is a serious point though, which is linked to the current situation. If things turn properly toxic then, especially with the makeup of the squad, it puts the next man in in a very difficult situation trying to lift a young squad and give them confidence. It could actually pull the rug from under the next manager before he's even put his feet down on it. It's a situation the board have got to manage and manage properly. It shouldn’t come down to the boos from the fans to get mon sacked If the board were competent we could get someone else without the fans getting toxic. If nothing was said by the fans this lot would offer mon a new bloody contract

And this is the 5th longest-serving manager in the league, with a top-half budget. He's got some balls to be using this line of excuse-making three years in. I'd imagine our player salary budget was pretty much average for the league now isn't it?

I'd imagine our player salary budget was pretty much average for the league now isn't it? I think when you go down the list of clubs, it's impossible to find 12 who'll have a bigger budget. I'd be a bit surprised if there were many non-parachute clubs spending a lot more than us. But everyone is feeling the pinch When you have a look at the financial landscape in the division by reading just snippets from local papers, quotes from managers about what they can and can't do in the market and stuff, it's amazing just how much in the brown stuff the whole division is in.

I'd love to know what the rest of the backroom staff are thinking ,surely they haven't got faith in the manager or the system.

So let me get this straight... We can't hope for the top "because we've not been able to spend money" but wants us to "be patient because he thinks he's assembled a strong squad"
Which is it Michael?
And yet again rolling out the "young squad" bollocks... THE PLAYERS AREN'T THE FUCKING PROBLEM, MICHAEL... YOU ARE!!!!
Needs to fuck off pronto

Fact is the fans shouldn’t be booing as it affects the players. Some anti MON songs are the way forward, and I bet there are one or two players who would take that as an incentive to improve performance either way

I think we've all been patient long enough, I was pleased when O'neil came and immediately steadied the boat but the boat is sinking slowly but surely and there is one person to blame, it's his team and his negative passive tactics that have stagnated the club. This man has put us back light years he has to go.

I’ve no problem with it, people can do what they want, well they used to be able to🙄 I just don’t think it’s helpful personally. I’d rather the ire was directed at the manager

Last 25 games in all comps (league and both cups) Won- 7 Drawn- 6 Lost- 12 🤔 Is this excluding friendlies? 50% loss ratio not good. Scary stat that.. even scarier that is doesn't include the piss poor closed season friendlies

This excuse of being only 5 games into the season just doesn’t (or shouldn’t be allowed to) wash when looked at over the longer term. Not only will this manager fail to get us anywhere near the top 6 but this is relegation form over an extended period of time.

I am always reluctant to change managers, especially when one has put together a brand new team.
All this has to be set against the context of absolutely culling the existing wage bill.
I think there is a good team there trying to get out, and a bit of patience and confidence for them will ultimately bear fruit.
The lad from Brentford looked good on Saturday, but again with Delap, we're starting with a scratch side. Put Tymon, Souttar & Powell into that line up and it's a different team. We're getting done in behind the centre backs at the moment, which wouldn't happen if Souttar was in the team.
This team may well surprise us yet. Hang in there for a while and enjoy watching them develop.

If the midfield refuses to put pressure on the opposition, and O’Neill insists on his high back line, the end result will be the same. I admire your optimism- but the last 33 league games have garnered 35 points. It’s all jam tomorrow with MO’n, yet he runs the team like Old Mother Hubbard.
