Honestly I think when it became apparent we won't see big Souttar this side of 2023 we just went for the first player who was a similar height in the belief it was what we needed to defend set pieces.

Was a totally ridiculous signing, he's finished as a footballer. The worrying thing is He’s a 33 year old reject from Cardiff. Anyone with half a brain could see he’s a finished player.

Truly awful/sackable signing, just because Holden had him at Bristol City.

When Flint was at Bristol City under Lee Johnson, I thought he was awesome and recall wishing we could have him at Stoke. For that reason I was quite please when he signed for us. Jeez, this guy is now an imposter of the player he used to be.

Not good enough for Cardiff. Not fit to lace Jag's boots. Not worth his place in our starting 11.

Not really sure what he has done wrong to be honest, though I stopped watching after the second went in.
We’d probably see a more positive return on him if our own set piece delivery had been decent this year.

My thoughts exactly, it seems people on here need to single out a player to vent their frustrations at. Flint has been okay so far, it's a bit too early to judge one way or the other.

He's beyond wank. 6ft 7 but 5ft 9 when he jumps. Weak as piss, can't pass, unbelievably slow runs like he's towing a caravan. To top it all off he comes across as a Dick (my opinion he could be a top bloke but doubt it)

We’d probably see a more positive return on him if our own set piece delivery had been decent this year. Failed to prevent the opposition from having a shot on target. Our last three competitive clean sheets have been from limiting the opposition to zero shots on target. Last time we kept a cleansheet against a team that got more than 2 shots on target was QPR on 5th December 2021 when Adam Davies was in goal.

Did Jags’ legs suddenly go in the close season? It can happen quickly and he is 40 years old, but unless there was any solid evidence of that it’s completely mental not to be playing him in the middle now, he was one of our best players last year

You'd think Jags's experience would benefit Taylor and Wilmot!!!

He is wank if we wanted an old Head in there on short term we should have gone for garry cahill And Gary Cahill usually plays as Left Centre Back of a 3. But MON wouldn’t be interested in him … too much pedigree and far too old … would sooner taken arsenal players who have never played for them 🤦🏻♂️

FFP. Gary Cahill was on 26k a week last year, Flint was on about 10k less than that. We don't have the budget for him.

Don't think he's done a great deal wrong to be honest. As he's neither young or an academy graduate though, he's the perfect one to point fingers at.
Golden boys Taylor and Bursik seem to get little criticism for their mistakes on Saturday.
Not saying he's a world beater by any stretch. But imagine if he made the mistake Sparrow did for the second goal. Or made the mistake Taylor did for the first...
For the budget what better alternatives were there? Bearing in mind someone has already mentioned Gary Cahill who was earning 50% more than Flint last year. So realistic examples please.

Wouldn't care if he was cover, which is what he should be really. I'd agree that I'd much prefer to see Jags over him but seems a nice enough bloke who is only here for a year so not going to slate him.

6ft 7in, yet when he jumps, he his 6ft 7 1/4in.off the ground. Couldn't tackle Auther Askey after he had his legs amputated. Couldn't pass water. Why does he wear a headband?, he does fuck all to get a sweat on. 🤣

Bearing in mind someone has already mentioned Gary Cahill who was earning 50% more than Flint last year. So realistic examples please. Bursik I agree, always thought he’s overrated - possibly because he’s the England GK. I think we all hope to see this ‘amazing’ keeper but he’s just not that. Doesn’t command his box, shot stopping v iffy, one good trait of his is his kicking! That is massive in the modern game but you’ve got to do more. Haven’t seen people pointing fingers at Flint, I may be wrong with that though. - I just think they are expressing the fact that he’s come straight in as a starter and been v poor, examples of this are in his distribution from the back, his communication and his presence. I would of rather have kept Batth! As for Taylor - I think when Souttar is back we’ve got one hell of a partnership there for a good few years (providing they don’t get nabbed) and that’s exciting to me personally.
