……………….…..Kilkenny…………………
…….Baker…..Smallbone...Laurent..
……………..Brown……....Gayle…………
not ideal but this 532 drives me up the wall

We don't have a goalkeeper who can make a save, our defenders are cumbersome, and we still lack goals. It's a bottom 6 squad with a bottom 6 manager.

Brown will get well over 10, gayle should also. Campbell you'd expect coming upto 10 along with Powell if he stays fit, then you have Baker and all the defenders, way way way enough goals on this squad the problem is confidence, mentality and the manager

If I was manager I would pick a team that trained with one another in the week Not a team that introduces themselves in a huddle just before kick off.

Are those three centre halves good enough? We have 2 wing backs in the squad if we play back 5. No full backs to play back 4. No natural wingers or wide forwards with any experience at this level to allow us to play any other system. Our best 11 threatens the top half, but the squad is lacking quality and depth all over (except midfield) in my opinion.

Clarke is out 10 weeks, so I doubt we’ll see much of him before Christmas.
Assuming he’s going to persist with three cbs, I’d go
Bursik
Wilmot Jagielka Taylor
Larent Baker Smallbone Tymon
Campbell Gayle Brown

Why Campbell? May look lazy but that is how a smart modern days "natural finisher" is like.

Bursik
Edwards Taylor Jagielka Tymon
Laurent Baker
Campbell Smallbone DWP
Gayle
Far from ideal.
Needs a GK LB DM LW bigger striker and Powell ideally.

Jesus wept. I’m no O’Neill fan, I want him gone like many, but on here we have Laurent as a wing back, Brown on the wing, Gayle on the wing. Anyone for DWP at centre half?!
If I was the manager for Tuesday, and Edwards is available, I’d go for
Bursik Taylor Jagielka Wilmot Edwards Laurent Baker Tymon Smallbone Brown Gayle
Longer term I’d look at going 4-2-3-1 but using the above when necessary.
New keeper Edwards Wilmot Souttar Tymon Laurent Baker Campbell Powell New LW Gayle
Might need a new RB depending on Edwards’ development and the LW would need to be an inside forward/winger to allow Tymon to get down the wing so we don’t nullify his brilliant attacking ability. We’re not going to sign a new keeper, and I reckon we’ll get a new RB, so with Jagielka or Taylor filling in for Souttar and Smallbone for Powell we’d just need the LW with DWP backing that position up and I’d be very happy going forward.
It’s all a load of bollocks anyway because MON is going nowhere and it’ll be 352/3412/532/343 for the foreseeable. We need to sort out our set piece defending as a priority. 5 conceded in four games, 3 of which are from set pieces. The other two, a mistake by an out of position kid is easily fixable by not playing a kid out of position and another just leaving holes when chasing an equaliser which happens.

I'd go 442 or 433 and I would leave Flint out of the squad until he shows he can run and turn faster than me.
A gk - finding one should be top priority Wilmott - not ideal at rb but beggars can't be... Jags Taylor Tymon Baker Laurent Smallbone Campbell Gayle Brown

Due to another idiotic transfer window we have only 1 formation choice … 3 at the back. I’m my opinion we are massively missing Allen or a holding midfielder like Ben Pearson hence why baker is looking ordinary so far this season. Which ever way you look at it the squad he has built over the last few years is bottom of championship/ league 1 standard at best and in recent times I have never seen such a shocking depth of squad. Brown is a RWB at best and the centre halfs are shocking. So here’s mine …
Bursik Taylor. Flint. Jagielka Brown. Wilmot Tymon Baker. Smallbone/ Laurent Gayle. DWP / Campbell

Our manager couldn't motivate a chav to have a pint at Weatherspoons at 7am.
We need a keeper and a very mobile centre back. Hopefully Souttar will be back soon.
Our defence looks terrified with the ball, with nobody other than Tymon having the confidence to move or pass the ball forwards.
At the moment we are truly in deep shit.

No way is this a top 6 squad
Firstly it's far to thin (the injury to Clarke exposes that immediately). The defence in general is weak / poor (Flint is awful) - lack of a decent goalkeeper the icing on that particular cake.
In midfield we have options but we are desperately lacking in creativity and pinning all our hopes on a young loanee from Southampton.
Up front we are a basket case - Brown isn't a striker, Campbell still nowhere near the player he was and an injury to Gayle leaves us looking utterly toothless.
Bottom half of the table squad with holes all over the place

With Clarke out and no real replacement in the squad I would pick this team for Wednesday: .....................Bursik....................... Wilmot........Taylor........Jags..........Tymon ...............Laurent.....Baker................. Campbell............Smallbone............Gayle .....................Brown...................... He can't keep playing Flint and keep Jags on the subs bench as he is twice the player Flint is!

How can the squad be top 6 when 1 or 2 injuries completely derail us? absolute myth that we're good enough to be in the play offs. The manager isn't helping things but there are too many glaring deficiencies in this totally unbalanced squad.

No way is this anywhere near a top 6 squad. We could swap the manager tomorrow and it still wouldn't be a top 6 squad.
After our ridiculous and aimless lavish spending under Rowett we are just about at the bottom of the curve and starting the proper rebuild.
It will take another 2/3 years from here to build up a proper squad, under this manager or AN Other and that's only if we get pretty much 90% of our signings spot on.
