This is something that actually covers a few bases. I’ve always struggled with soap/shower gel and my skin - it just doesn’t agree with me at all. After a holiday to Greece earlier this year I discovered olive oil based soap bars and haven’t looked back since. They are incredibly cheap, last far longer than soap bottles and way better environmentally as no plastic bottles. I’ve worked out that in my house and how often we used to replace soap, it works out as about 15kg worth of empty bottles every year in the bin! Cost wise, it’s about £8-£10 quid a month I’m saving when you factor in having to buy soap bars. It’s not a lot granted but it’s actually a big hitting change that I never considered. Apparently the more you use soap/shampoo the more you need it. If you just wash in clean water over time your body/hair will adjust, your smin will be healthier and you don't smell either. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2020/jul/28/soap-dodger-meet-the-doctor-who-says-we-have-been-showering-wrong

Good one came out today from a tory minister which may help.
If you save your wrapping paper from Christmas this year and then iron it next Christmas.
You might be able to save enough money to buy a bottle of shloer next Christmas.

If you put it under the mattress, you can save on the cost of electric for the iron and buy a couple of sprouts to go with your drink. (Oops. Giving away some of my secrets there. )

Or you could just scrap the idea of spending money that you are struggling to save on random crap that no one needs because capitalism told you to on a religious day in a Western society that is not that religious anymore? Then you don’t even need wrapping paper.
