On balance I think stoke are going to have a decent season, I know what you are thinking ........ but we have lost one, won one and drawn one and that for me suggests MON has a good balance, he seems to be making a good go of this season actually achieving every result scenario available to the team so far...I know we actually lost against Morecombe on pens but over the duration of play we drew the game and were unlucky to lose in the manner that we did in not scoring as many Pennos as Morecombe.
Onwards and upwards, in MON we trust.

League fizzy drinks cup is totally irrelevant as we saw with the Champ teams tonight. Too many games as it is and said 307 times on here already, becoming less relevant every year.
We missed out on a home game v a reserve team with 1 stand open.

And after 10-12 games? Give it to the end of the year. And after the end of the year? He’s a great bloke, he saved us from relegation back in the year dot. And, oh, have you forgotten FFP? He’s saved us from a oh-my-god …. points deduction!! At least give him til the end of the season, then we’ll see. And if he gets more points than last year …. A new contract. MON, the messiah.

Which season are we talking about?
Losing 2 out of 3 games is not a good start.

If this great start continues, throughout the season, we'll safely survive this season with 60, 61 or 63 points! Take that Benji!
Knicker wetters!
If my maths is up to its usual standard I may be wrong! 😁 15 wins, 15 draws, 15 losses, 1 who knows!

Someone forgot to tell him you can't draw cup games that don't have replays

Cup games don’t count. I remember that from when we were winning cup games and several posters refused to acknowledge them in any form tables…….

It’s about momentum and consistency. It’s a competitive fixture for the players not in the first team to show the manager that they should be. As it’s no longer a cup that anyone is bothered about should we forget that we actually won it ?

Cup games don’t count. I remember that from when we were winning cup games and several posters refused to acknowledge them in any form tables……. I can remember that too. The results and any goals scored in them didn't count due to the shiteness of the opponents. Now the knives are as sharp as they can be, the goalposts have been shifted.

Now correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t this the only silverware we’ve ever actually won ?
Yet again 5 at the back against a team who until last night I thought were nonleague.
It’s far from a great start more like Stoke fans putting up with any shit, yet again.

It clearly isn't a great start. 1 win 1 loss and we're out of the Cup at the first round.

If Michael O'Neill can deliver good results in the league in the next few months this result will soon be forgotten.
If however results are only average this defeat will be raised more and more on here by those who want him out, in that sense this result will be a problem for him.

Great start is 6 points from 6 regardless of last night. Outplayed and toothless against a mediocre Millwall. Great start was last season 10 points from 12.
Talk about over playing something.

When you look at the abject shite we've had to endure for the past few seasons I guess its easy to say one win and two defeats is a great start. This is my worry, we are being conditioned into accepting mediocrity as being something good. Be careful, next on the list will be being happy as a league 1 club with great owners. I just don't get why some are so accepting.

It’s far from a great start more like Stoke fans putting up with any shit, yet again. We put in what seemed like 500 crosses into the box last night, Sparrow played pretty much as a right winger for the whole of the game because Taylor had so much space in front of him. Criticise the performance by all means but anyone describing the formation as 5 at the back is incorrect.......

Yep, excellent start, the sooner we can eliminate ourselves from contention in the only 3 competitions we take part in the better.
Looking forward to the FA Cup round 3 exit in January against non-league Bideford already! 😃

They are a method of getting game time into players who haven't been first team picks or are returning from injury so are potentially very useful. Match fit needs matches.

Millwall was unnacceptable.
Blackpool bear minimum.
Last night shouldve solidified the sacking. Unless he bosses the next 3 games, he's surely gone.

I'm disappointed we lost last night but it's really neither here nor there in the scheme of things. The year we went up we went out on penalties to Rochdale. It's no barometer of anything.
