We’ve been given the final block, I’m saying it will sell out before Saturday. I’m saying Thursday that would be the full upper tier! Mint following. Is block 24 not in use with it being marked off? yeah mate all of the blocks from 21-26 will be used (the whole upper tier) class following

this is not what I would go with, it is what I predict the manager will choose. I think he will go with Flint instead of Taylor, who gets swapped due to how awful he was at Hearts. Both would be better in the middle of a three imo. He might move Jags to the right or left instead, or bring in Fox and move Wilmot to the right, but I have a feeling those are his top three atm, and where he will put them. Our defence is a mess, and there’s is not a back three that I would say is good. I think Gayle will definitely go straight in, and despite Campbell being the sharper of the two in preseason, he will go with Brown, and bring Campbell on only if we are behind after 70 minutes. Again, not how I would do it, but what I think we will actually see. Taylor awful at Hearts? I thought he was comfortably our best defender on the day. Although I do agree I think he will go with Flint Jagielka and Wilmot at Millwall. He made a couple of mistakes early on, letting his man get past him but after that I thought he recovered well.

I watched the highlights of Millwall's friendly with Hammarby. Obviously little to take seriously but it seemed to me that they have defensive weaknesses. I spotted a right sided gap between full back and central defender and the left back was susceptible to the winger's speed.

The Swedes won on pens after a 0.0 draw. A nice Panenka winner.

I’m going for an optimistic 0 v 1 win for Stoke. Gayle from the bench in the 73rd minute.

If Mon doesn’t start with Gayle and Smallbone, he wants fucking certifying!!! Gayle has only been at the club a week. From a, who's the best player point of view, I would have no problem throwing him in. But that is not the way it usually works. Smallbone a bit longer, but I can see both coming in around the 60 minute mark too.

Imagine it’ll be
Bursik Jagielka Flint Wilmot Clarke Kilkenny Baker Laurent Tymon Brown Campbell
With Smallbone and Gayle from the bench. Would like to see Taylor start but away from home against a Rowett style side I imagine he’ll favour Flint.
It’s a 5 sub season as well isn’t it?

Kilkenny sitting as a 6, Baker and Laurent either side as 8's. 'Hung like a Horse' and Dwight coming off the bench on the hour.

Expect a back 3 on Saturday of rcb - Flint cb - Jags lcb - Wilmot Looks like a disaster waiting to happen. To play Flint anywhere else than in the middle is madness in my opinion, he is way too slow to play anywhere else! Taylor should play on the right as he has been our best defender during the friendlies. With 3 at the back I'd go with this: ..............Taylor........Flint........Jags................ I put Wilmot in on the left earlier, but I think he has been awful in most friendlies. Jags is probably quick enough, and experienced enough to play on the left too. This shows we actually need a left footed central defender, and Clarke at Brighton would be perfect as I see it. Wilmot looks so uncomfortable on the left and Fox is no alternative as I see it.

Flint is shit and Wilmot would be a lot more comfortable on the right hand side. play Wilmot right side then & Jags left side, Flint to boss Afobe in the air Flint is a donkey but he's been a good defender at this level in games like this, i.e. shitty games where little football being played or play Taylor

Just a personal observation that will be lost in another extended thread, but I have to say that this pre season is probably the one I have been least interested in in 60 years of following Stoke. When they line up for this first game I will have no idea who half of the players are. It will be a little like some strange guest team pretending to be Stoke City. Hoping for the best but it looks like its going to need quite a transformation in our fortunes to get me interested in what's going on this season.

Even then, with nothing in the middle it makes you fairly predictable. Difficult to create overloads as well.
