Striding towards another slam

Been following him consistently since his return a year or so ago. No chance of winning a slam right now IMO (or ever again most likely). I'm not saying that as a hater I bloody love the guy, but just being realistic. I think he's got a few more ATP titles in him though (runner up recently0, and could maybe even sneak a masters 1k before he retires. Slams are out of reach IMO, it's just too gruelling given best of 5 sets, and the physical level just seems beyond him. He's got nothing to prove though he's already a legend even if he announces his retirement tonight.

Round four at best I reckon unless he gets a whole lot better pretty quickly.
He was poor for a set and a half against a guy who hasn't won a match since November, but it must be nice to be that good that you know even your B game, when it eventually turns up, will be good enough for victory.
Big serving Isner next. Provided Murray can take the inevitable tie-breaks he should get through.

Will he end up losing (Scotland’s Andy Murray) Or winning (Great Britains Andy Murray)? Either way, tennis is for middle class toffs and is best avoided until some fresh razz steps onto the court👀

I see our golden girl fluffed her lines. Ridiculous the amount of pressure put on her, she had a fairytale and done nowt since. Probably completely consumed by media scrutiny

Well played Isner, some serving.
A set and a half of points won just with aces! Tough to beat that, especially when you lose your own serve a couple of times.
Modest interview afterwards too, good stuff.

Class words from Isner.
Shit at chanting but not too shabby at winning graciously the yanks.

I see our golden girl fluffed her lines. I wonder if the US Open was her Leicester City moment? Not impossible but I can’t see it. It’s possible for tennis players to catch lightning in a bottle (a few famous Nadal defeats at Wimbledon spring to mind) but maintaining it for an entire tournament makes me believe Raducanu (and Fernandez) just tapped into their budding potential earlier than would be expected. The level of tennis they were producing was just too high in their runs to the final for me to believe it was just lightning in a bottle. Definitely possible that, paradoxically, winning the major early could harm her career rather than help. She became a global superstar in a very short period of time and has had to deal with loads of shit that a teenage girl shouldn’t, such as crazed stalkers and whatnot. I think most likely in raducanu’s case is she’ll struggle for a few years but then settle down and start producing again. It kind of reminds me of Sharapova who won Wimbledon as a 17 year old I believe, and everyone thought she was destined to challenge the major record but she only (slight sarcasm in only) ended up winning 5. Sharapova won more at a young age and maybe Raducanu just isn’t mentally ready for the pressure and limelight and needs to mature a bit more. She does seem quite sensitive.
