I used to bloody love Hoefkens. Let him have one barnstorning season there, then we can bring him home.

Let's hope non of his players have kids... Explain Didn't Pulis give as an excuse for not playing him that he was being kept up at night by his young baby? Pulis hated him - just wouldn't stay in that cage.

I liked Hoefkens Pulis didn't treat him very well just like Tuncay. The connection? lovely flowing locks of which baldy Pulis was always jealous!

Was Hoefkens our penalty taker? I have a memory of us getting a penalty and he wasn't allowed to take it so he went to the other end of the pitch and refused to celebrate. I can't remember if it was Pulis who told him he couldn't take it.

I don't think Pulis was involved and he said after the game that the players sort it out between themselves on the pitch.

I think up until then, Hoefkens had been taking all the penalties and had tucked them all away, so when we got the penalty that day he wasn't expecting any challenge. I'm fairly sure Higgy had only just joined us, but wasn't taking any prisoners. It had the dark hand of Pulis all over it in my opinion. Pulis must have smashed more bottles of water to the ground watching Hoefkens than any other Stoke player. He clearly annoyed the shit out of him.

Used to save it for Bjarni and Hoefkens.

Pulis was so furious that he'd got himself in that position that he didn't celebrate but gave Hoefkens a mouthful. That one might just be my imagination about how the scenario would act out. I loved Hoefkens and was almost as sad when he went to WBA as I was when Greenhoff went to Utd.

Absolutely agree that it had the dark hand of Pulis all over it. Top notch shithousery. Really poor treatment of Hoefkens for that penalty from both TP and Higgy. The captain should have shown some spine as well (whoever it was).
