so similar to our own. Panic manager sacking, ill thought out/gamble to replace Dyche. No real investment or quality signings (Collins being an exception), an ageing squad and even have Beardsley and Pieters. Probably worse off than us as they now have to pay back a 63M loan. Definitely best players set to leave. Can’t see any quick return to the Prem for them.

Sacking Dyche arguably the right move - he seemed to have gone stale and his methods stopped working - they won almost as many games in the run immediately after he was replaced as they did in the whole of the season up to that point.
Nevertheless, was in their own hands and they blew it, and they're now absolutely screwed.

A result for the Prem rid itself of a vile pointless team that only tried to spoil and strangle the game.

I'm not saying that Hughes wasn't absolutely ripe for sacking but I've always believed we would have stayed up had we kept him. We would have lost game after game 5-0 and scraped a 1-0 from somewhere. Lambert made us harder to beat but didn't solve the goal scoring issue.
I think much the same of Burnley. Dyche may well have scraped a survival out of somewhere. Instead, they've gone down without much of a fight like a limp dick on ladies night.

Under Jackson they W3 D2 L3 which was a big improvement in form. When they sacked Dyche they looked dead and buried it was quite an achievement to take it to the last day I thought.

It’s hard to call how any of the relegated sides will do this time around. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see any of them either storm the league, or totally tank.
As much as everybody says Fulham walked the league this season, they had the lowest points total of any champion since 2015. I don’t see any stand out teams this time. I can see a dark horse doing something special.

And may that Dark Horse be called The Stoke! With Michael O'Neil sat astride, with his red and white striped lance in one hand and his armoured fist raised in triumph. ONWARDS!!!

I liked Burnley in the Prem league.
However I do think I prefer Burnley over Leeds in the Championship next season.
Not that we will be anywhere near the Top 6 but there u go

£65m payment due ASAP Tarkovski, Mee, Barnes out of contract Pope, Cornet, Collins, McNeill all expected to be sold for potentially lower fees with little prospect of reinvestment Could be grim

I'm just amazed Leeds survived. Leeds had far more fight and togetherness I think, plus their crowds and Everton's crowds were probably more supportive and motivating than Burnley's.

Definitely best players set to leave. Can’t see any quick return to the Prem for them. They’ll likely get a good wedge for Ben Mee to be honest. If they sell Pope and Tarkowski for reasonable prices as well, they should still be able to reinvest and have a half decent squad. Edit - realized he’s 32. Perhaps they’ll have to sell Collins as well then.

Leeds almost had a bit too much fight, I think they still have big problems next year if Ted Lasso makes it to xmas I'll be surprised, Everton too imagine spending £500m and ending up with that team....

Yeah they turned down £25m or something like that from west ham. And as I was discussing with Bayern yesterday like we found with Butland getting a decent fee for Pope might be harder than it looks only Newcastle and West Ham look like potential homes will either pay £25m+ ?

Pope at least is roughly the same keeper he was a couple of seasons ago. Butland fell off quite dramatically post injury. 25+ million seems too high though, I’d agree.

Mee, Barnes and Tarkovski are out of contract Barnes would be a top quality shithouse in this league Who we should have bought instead of Vokes. He’ll be up there with the top scorers in the league next year.
